New Plug ins just for the boxed?!?!?!??!?!

"Online versus full is the same license for Tracktion as far as I know. But obviously if we add more 3rd party plug-ins to the full bundle, only the bundle people will receive them."
This was Beno's comments when T2 first came out, and there was discussion about boxed version verses the online upgrade, and what plugins for the upgrade.

I understood from this and other "official" comments that all "mackie" pluggins would be available to all, but all 3rd party pluggins are available to the boxed version only (which makes sense to me).

Personally I really don't need these new plugs, as I already have ones that I like (though I wouldn't mind having more options).

What bothers me is this is another indication of how us international customers can expect to be treated in the future. Desicions like this just widdle away at my product loyalty and enthusiasm.

Trackion is great, exceptional actually, but it has stiff compatition, and good old "taking care of the customer" goes along way! (that was what lured me to tracktion back in the "Jules" days)

I upgraded online for $20, which was almost unbelievably decent. However, not having any kind of access to the new plugs, free or otherwise, is a bit ... confusing. I really do feel like a legitimate customer, but I don't really feel treated like one.

Is there anybody who can't buy the boxed version? I think I remember there were lot's of people that couldn't upgrade to the boxed version for the $80 or whatever the amount was, but anybody can buy the boxed version out-right, yes, or no?
I am from Croatia and the only way to buy boxed is to order online and pay almost double price when customs and taxes are added. Bollocks!

This is really too much. I cannot get discounted RMIV, AMPLITUBE, and those other VSTs, and now even the propriatory Tracktion plug-ins. i'm really pissed here!

I don't think that referring to the Mackie dudes as
the rear end of something smelly would help the situation.... :help:

But I do understand you point. It is a narrowminded
idea to think that all the aliens of the earth have
access to a audio shop.. I like the idea that we can create wonderful(or not) noises in the most cornered places.

Dudes, we're all online. The world will be even more online in the years to come. Why don't spare the world for the enviromental drawback "bundles" create?

This is my not so humble opinion...
Say YES to OpenSource Software!!

sorry but I can't understand that some of you cry with childish and stupid behaviour to the Mackie guys which are working on a great product which is offered for a fair price to the musicians community I think. Sure they want to make money... but they also HAVE to make money for our happiness!!! If not enough money comes in for the work they do a manager or financial controller will discontinue the project. Fullstop!. This would be the end of T-Time. Do you want that? Switching back with all your Projects on your HD to another host?... or never get the open issues fixed?

For 20$ you already got FinalMix and the other Mackie-Plugs.

For 160 $ I bought T2 boxed because my T1 NFR has not qualified me for upgrade...Lots of unuseful plugs in there too but still a good deal!!. Yes I am happy to get the new additional plugs and I also think it would be clever to offer them also separately. But hey.. Just VST plugins!!! You're on KVR here - plugins everywhere - and you can also buy them for different prices. Compressors, Reverb, EQ ... nothing unusual.

So is there a pathway for people to crossgrade (upgrade??) from T2 online version to T2 boxed yet in the UK. I know there was a problem with upgrading from paid for V1 to T2 boxed which is why I did it online but I'd expected that to have been sorted by now.

[Meh, edited because whether I appreciated it or not, Visa had a point. Sorry if Visa's point only makes a little sense now.]

[edited again because I called Visa a name, but he showed more class than me. Thanks for showing me the way. ;)]

Good point. I guess I'm accustomed to getting people to consider their own actions/words and their implications. What works in the classroom doesn't necessarily work in the forum.

If Mackie want me to buy the boxed version, I expect to get a reduction in the price based around what I've already paid for Tracktion.
I consider this is a reasonable expectation, because people who supported Tracktion from the start made it an attractive and profitable investment for Mackie.

If it matters to anyone. ;) I agree with the above.

Can't always expect something for free!!!! Just face it, sometimes you just gotta dish out $$$ for stuff you want!

I assume you folks are posting your complaints over at the official Tracktion Forum, correct? You might get more attention by folks at Mackie that way.

Voice your concerns here

I can understand why some are upset - seems like there should be a way to upgrade 'all the way', except that the Sampletank SE, Amplitube and RMIV are likely too big for a DL upgrade - would need to still buy a box with CDs in it - making the prospects of shipping into countries like the aforementioned Croatia likely very expensive.

That was the price difference - boxed buyers and upgraders paid quite a lot of money to get the extra plugins.

I don't expect it for free: I expect to get a reduction equal to what I have already paid.

The problem some people have though, and IMHO it is an entirely legitimate gripe, is that in the US we all got a steal, whereas outside of the US, if you can find T at all, it is typically far more expensive and there was no boxed upgrade deal to take away the pain.

Ideally Mackie should make some kind of upgrade offer to non-US residents, and then anyone who choses to stay with the upgrade only deal can quit whining when they don't get the red carpet. Right now though, I think a lot of people are just wanting Mackie to meet them halfway.

Lets just hope the distribution model is a little more polished come T3.

Anyway, that's enough soapboxing; back to homework. :(
