OK go ahead and laugh!! Why do my midi files I import not play sound. I recently purchased T2 and M-Audio 410 firewire. I have always used Band in a box for a quick way to generate my song ideas. Also I buy pre-recorded midi files of popular songs as backup for guitar playing. I import these as midi files into T2 and I see all the tracks, labeled correctly, and all I get sound-wise is nothing!. I figured out that midi needs a synth to run thru so I pull down one from sample tank and still nothing. What am I doing wrong. There is nothing on the meters either. Can I not use T2 to re-instrument my BinaB midi files? Running XP. Thanks for any help.

Yes, you should be able to. Pick a track that has a midi file on it. As a quick test drag an MDA dx10 from the "New Filter" filter list to the right hand side of that track, just in front of the volume meter on that track. Hit play. Does it make a sound? It should do.

To clarify, the track should look a wee bit like this;

Just to add to what chico's saying: Sample Tank's sounds are assigned to individual channels. MIDI clips are often divided by channel. Sampletank defaults its first sound to Channel 1. If your MIDI clip is sending MIDI on channel 2, you will hear nothing. You need to change either SampleTank or the MIDI clip so that they're on the same Channel.

A Million Thanks...It was a combination of both issues. I was pulling the wrong synths into tracks AND the channels were all screwed up in ST LE.

Again I sincerely thank you.
