I tried to find some photos of Steve Howe girning while playing but couldn't.

To be sure, nothing touches Steve for his "nose hairs being yanked out by the roots" look whilst playing.

Blimey, he's a bloke that would be entertaining to watch even if he couldn't play. :hihi:

I've seen girning spelled with an "i" and a "u." Doesn't seem to be any authoritative form, so I use the spelling used around here. :-)

And yeah, Steve Howe's face performance is pretty exciting -- but his playing is soooo much better. Yum.

Ur rite :) I'm tired... LOL

Post

NP. :-) Language is a great substance to play with, always doing something new and different.

I've just always seen it spelt with a U, gets more google hits too :) hehe

It's a grand thing seeing this Amplitude 2 thread going OT. Smashing, that. :hihi:

What ties it all in together is the Fuzzface emulation someone mentioned... was it Guitarface? That was good.

Actually it is called Fuzzage. Which is also a good term for something else which I am not allowed to get into here.

You guys could probably do a whole new thread on guitar faces though. Pretty funny stuff. The winner has to be Angus Young. It is almost impossible to find a picture of him standing still!

Jimmy Page made some great guitar faces in his day. So does Gilmour, Metheny... in fact, it is harder to find a great guitarist who doesn't make a face. Maybe there is something to it!

True, true...that chap looked like *all* his body hair was being pulled out by the roots whilst he played.

He may have discovered the tone that makes you instantly and involuntarily go to the bathroom.

The dangers of tuning your guitar too low.
