Personally I don't mind rewire & I like reasons stability & low cpu use - things that would likely diminish if it became an 'open' host.

People should start a petition or something to make Propellerheads add VSTi support to Reason. Reason would sell like hot cakes then!
Besides, they've made it pretty clear that they have no intention of implementing these features. As far as I'm concerned, let them go out of business. Maybe then somebody with more common sense will buy them out and develop the product in a more logical manner.
