I just recorded a track and the volume and levels were just fine, but when I played it back it was barely audible. Does anyone know the remedy for this?

Thanxxxxx

That's a very expansive question, because there are sooooo many variables in your setup that nobody could pinpoint it for you without details.

Don't forget that the master volume is -3dB; though, that shouldn't matter since you would've been playing through the master area, too.

I'm guessing that somewhere along the way, the signal that you're monitoring (or the way you're monitoring it) is different from the signal you're recording.

Must have more details. ;)

Do you monitor the sound through T or directly through your soundcard? Can you hear the effects you apply to the recording while you monitor or only while you play it back?

Follow your chain: What do the input meter show? How aboud the waveform on the clips? Meters on the track? Master meter?

Thanx 4 the responses.........I'm monitoring the sound through an Mbox w/ AKG headsets and I'm not a seasoned tracker so my descriptions may sound elementary. Spacefox....you mentioned effects so I went back to the track and added the new MRVB-1, Mackie reverb to it and now I'm getting proper volume plus stereo as I had designated in Settings before recording ( I forgot to mention that I was only getting a mono response as well). so I hope this tells you something as far as trouble shooting.
thanx 4 your help guys

I had a situation where I put a stereo VST after the volume control on one track and the ENTIRE MIX became mono. It took me a while to find that.
