I use to sing in front of Traction screen to see starts and tempo changes.
Is a stupid idea to have a text type track for lyrics?

haydxn's update rules. I even used it to animate notes and chords for a guitar part I wasn't sure I'd remember later. 
Plus, if you have a webcam/digicam and a hardware unit whose settings you want to remember, snap a pic, save in lowish-res, copy to project directory, and insert into Trackpad as a visual reference.

Rock, I liked Trackpad and already using it. But the concept of a lyrics track, that scroll with the pointer, to sing, as in a notation score... I´m still looking.

mr, using haydxn's version, you can have a lyrics track that adds a word at a time, no worries.

you can sort of have words appear on the track; make an empty clip (e.g. press 'g' to add a blank midi clip) and position/size it so that it spans the correct duration and place for the word you want. name the clip (properties panel when it is selected) with the word you want. the text size is fixed, so zooming can be odd, but having a clip for each word makes sure the words appear in the right places.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I tried the MIDI note control and the MIDI Clip trick... and a combination of both! Looks nice.

I use one of the trackpad versions and get pretty good karaoke type effects by alternating current and next lines and using "<" as a pointer.
Then I use a cromatic scale to just flip through the pages one note per measure with chords, one note per line with lyrics.
Not all that exciting without sound and the lryics are actually cooler looking than the chords as they go by, but anyhow here's a flash movie where you can see how it works...
