After freezing a midi track, which outputs to "sfz" soundfont player, I can still here it playing. Is this a fault with "sfz" or a bug in Tracktion?

Post

Freezing a track won't mute it's output, even though the track is effectively shutdown to conserve cpu, a rendered version of the track will still be heard.

Or am I missing something?

freeze is not mute.

Having muted and then frozen the track I could still hear it playback at rather high levels! In the end I just deleted the midi track. Just wondered If anyone else had come across this?

i can confirm this. mute doesnt work for me either if i freeze the track after muting.

that's a bug then. :)

Ummm... why would one freeze a muted track? Well whatever. Maybe just to get it out of the way. A work around would be to add a new volume/pan filter as the last filter in the chain and turn it all the way down. Then freeze. Later disable or delete the filter to return to normal.

i try an do it as a form of lockin tracks im not using at the moment to keep them out of the way.

Well then give my method a try I think it will work for you. I think I've done it before actually for the same reason. :)
