Tracktion quit working

I left my daw on last night and when I came back to it today the cpu usage was redlined. I went to save my project and it closed T. I rebooted and clicked on Tracktion, but it just shows an hourglass for a split second and then does nothing. If I try and reboot at this point it gives me the option to "end program" and the window says "JUCEwindow". Any one else ever have this problem?
I reinstalled Tracktion and still no luck...

Tracktion can sometimes be a bit finiky and the only way out is to turn-off and turn-on the computer again.
Have you check or tested all your other programs to see if they are working as normal.
Have you checked Tracktion settings. Sometimes you have to re-set some of Tracktion settings. I was testing something today and I had to reset Tracktion's audio settings.
Oh, did you try to restore back to just before the problem. Most computer's leave automatic restore points. Can complicate things if there have been lots of changes since the last restore point. Everytime I do something I always put a restore point in just in case.

I've had this happen a few times. Now I never leave Tracktion running overnight. I shut it down at the end of every session.

It seems to be working now...very strange.
I started a virus scan and fourteen minutes in, the tracktion loadup screen pops up.
This has never happened before, so hopefully it stays that way.

I get the JUCE window/message thing about 2 to 3 times a month. Fairly annoying. However, after I do get it closed, T will work for me.freeztar wrote:I left my daw on last night and when I came back to it today the cpu usage was redlined. I usually get my message when I reboot my machince because it couldnt "open audio device". This is incredabaly annoying!! T has about a 50% probability that it wont find the device the first time I fire it up.
Scoops
I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

The solution is to run the uninstaller for Tracktion, and then reinstall it. Don't know what causes it, but I no longer leave T running when I'm not using it either.

If you use a screen saver, this could sometimes cause certain programs to lock up, especially some of these newer 3-D, Hi-def screensavers. I will ususally disable mine before I start working with Tracktion just to try and prevent that sort of thing from happening. So far so good.

Thanks for the replies!
I suppose I'll take the advice and close down Tracktion after each session.
I'm not running any screen savers (or any other background process for that matter). It freaked me out cause after two reboots and a reinstall it still did not work (did not uninstall first though). Everything seems to be back to normal now though.
I left it on last night and it's still working fine tonight.
