Will Z2 Have Multi Outs?

Just wondering, it seems like it Could sometimes save alot of cpu to use Z2 as a multi-timbral (in the sense that you use different oscs on different key ranges or midi channels) instrument, and a few extra outs could help with that!

Hehehe, I *hate* multitimbrality, just like I don't do program banks. Too many problems arise from that. Just imagine 4-part multitimbrality and each instance of Z2 grabs 40 MB of memory, even though you use only 1 part of it.
You can already use different oscs at different key or velocity ranges (see "more osc..." tabs). A silent osc doesn't use any cpu. I could certainly extend that to Midi Channel selections, but I had in mind to use Midi Channels for something else at some point.
The problem when using multitimbral alike schemes within a patch is, you loose the flexibility of multitimbrality. A patch is a patch and you can't load more than one. I don't know if the effort of creating a multitimbral patch is really worth the outcome, I guess it would just double the time needed to create a patch... (and if you look at some deep patches, such as the tas ones, these are 10+ hours for each preset...)
However, there's that idea of a "ZebraPlayer" which would be an add-on plugin that just does nothing else than load multiple presets and have them arranged in key zones and midi channels. This idea came up before NI Kore, but now we can sit and wait how Kore works out in real life...
Cheers,
Urs

Oh, yes... Multi Outs.
That's one of the things I have never touched before. I'm gonna check out the possibilities in AU and VST in a couple of weeks. If it makes sense, I might add extra outs for the FX Busses.
Cheers,
Urs

Ok, which one is the real Urs?
I didn't mean to make Zebra actually multitimbral, just to open the possibility within one patch if people want to use it by putting more outputs and maybe just maybe being able to assign oscs to different channels.
Of course you could always only allow certain channels (like 1-4) so you could reserve the others for future use.
This idea stems from my greed of wanting to conserve as much cpu as possible while using the best synth in the world.

I noticed in testing that it seems like under many circumstances it could save alot of cpu.
Many of my patches are quick bass synths using 1-2 oscs, 1-2 envs, and maybe a filter.
OMG - I love the evil thick sounds you can make with one osc & one fm osc!

Surround or multi-channel whatever. I am currently doing this preset with the Multistage on osc pitch and there multiple outs for multichannel (not necessarily surround in the sense of 5.1 or 7.1 etc.) would be handy too.
would be great to have 4+ output channels.

Well, yes. However, I have no experience in multi out stuff, so this has to wait until a 2.x update
