I cannot seem to use the new Panner plugin at all without getting severe audio grunge on one side. Am I doing something silly perhaps? I just dropped it onto a track (after a VSTi) and played around with the presets, and they pretty much all sound this way.

running WinXP pro on Dell P4 3.2 2GB Ram with emu 1212M sound card.

Thanks

bump. If I'm an idiot and doing something stupid, please say so. I can take it!

Hi Hybernation, your not alone on this, the panner is whacked and totally unuseable for me as well, except I get this on both channels.

Any one else having trouble with this?

I'm trying it out here.... and all I can think is that you're expecting it to behave differently than it's programmed to behave, or expecting all settings to be clean, which they won't necessarily be.

Such an effect has a lot of potential for frequency smearing, and you might also be driving your speakers too hard with the new per-channel volume increase that panning can create.

I dunno, seems to be working here!

Caveat: Panning is an effect I rarely use, and I'm not an expert. I'm not saying there's nothing to your complaint, just that I can't personally substantiate it since it's working the way I think it should work for me.

Lunch Money, I just gave it another try. I am getting what you would expect from a panner except, now, my right channel speaker sounds much like an am radio in between stations, much static.

I tried all the presets, tweaked the panners settings and still seem to get the afore mentioned audio grunge, but, only in the right channel, unlike the first time where it happend in both channels. Not a big deal, it seems like an effect that I would rarely use as well, but still would be cool if it worked.

Yup, we're experiencing different things. It's likely system-specific, but still definitely a bug. Here's hoping for a fix. ;)

njon6 and Lunch Money, what platforms are you running T2 on?

I'm an AthlonXP 2600+ with either a TonePort UX2 or an Audiophile 2496. While testing this time around, it was the TonePort I was using.

WinXP Athlon64 3200+, Onyx 1620-fire wire.

Just tested it on my system again, it seems to sound fine. Both sides sound equal quality wise. I'm on a PIV WinXP Home box right now. Sound card Delta 66 Omni Studio.

We've duplicated this and will issue a fix. It only occurs with certain hardware and buffer configurations.
