Tracktion Software

Hi,

I don't know how many people who frequent this forum actually use linux, but I've made a window manager inspired by Tracktion, called Twindy. It basically tries to apply Tracktion's method of displaying everything on the one screen to a window manager. It uses JUCE (modified slightly, and included in the zip), so it shouldn't need any exotic dependencies. A screenshot:

I've actually thought of something along these lines. I think it would be cool to be able to "tag" applications and documents. So if something is a "work" item, it shows up in that context. Something can, of course, have multiple tags. Just a thought....

Its just a basic internet machine at the moment.. I installed it on my old PC, which I've set up in my bedroom so I can check email etc without getting out of bed

Have used it myself for general computing and RedOrchestra/Doom3 but with me getting serious about music and can't be bothered dual booting, back to Windows I went.

Should do - because it uses JUCE, the only dependencies are the X libs and freetype, which are pretty much standard for every distro. I''ve only been able to test it on debian/agnula myself, but since ubuntu's based on debian, I can't imagine there would be any problems.

That's an interesting idea - you could have multiple tabs along the top of Twindy (a la Tracktion's Projects - Settings - current edit) to select between contexts. I'm not sure how you'd keep track of which apps/files belong to which contexts though. You'd either have to have a big database, or a filesystem which stored metadata for each file. Both of which are beyond me, unfortunately...
