Hi Tracktioneers,

I'm searching for a vsti analog type sequencer
for T2 that can do the following (i tried numereous but could'nt find one wich can do following)

analog type sequencer ,3 rows , for pitch , volume
and filter with option to shorten run , example
running 8 or 16 step pitchrow against a 7 or 14 step filterrow.

Must be able to do following!

hardware kenton controlfreak can be assigned
to the vsti sequencer to select pitch per notestep and also for the 2 other rows ,And most importantly
it should send it's output data to the midi out
to drive hardware synths (and not a vsti soundsource)

Closest i've seen is the built in sequencer of
arturia's moogmodular BUT this can only be routed
to the soundengine itself and i want something
to drive my hardware synths And be able to
control this seqeuncer with my kenton cfreak to select pitch etc pro step .
Maybe reaktor could do it but i don't want to use that.

any alternatives ?

best bet i reckon would be sonicbytes ERA2 ... should be able to manage pretty much all of that i think ...

era doesn't support pitch note select with hardware
controller, so that's no option

hmmmnnn ... then if ERA doesnt cut it as a VST stepsequencer for you i doubt anything will ...

HI

I found ERA/EST most unintuitive, bland and failing to deliver a solution for the layman - read: if step sequencing is this painfull I would rather forget about it (EX-owner of both programs).

Flipper.

true ... they ARENT the most immediately user-friendly plugins ... but they sure pack some power under their baffling hoods ...

HI

I am keeping an eye open for Sonic's up-coming 'Tequila' project which promises similar features and more ... so who knows.

Have you tried Stepbeater yet? It's got a few more features than Stepchild, but I'm not sure it's exactly what you are looking for.

It's here on KVR and from the dev. at:

I don't think it's exactly what you are looking for but it might get you close.

I found a creative way myself to get the functionality i wanted.

Modular V built in (moog 55 emu)sequencer was the closest i wanted,
but lacked the midioutput of the builtin sequencer
, so i found a plugin that can convert audio to
midi in realtime, using it as an insert and copying
its output on another track in realtime , now i can
let my hardware controllers select pitch and filter
and loop length of the running sequencer from the vsti, while driving
my hardware synths (Mks 70, mks 80, prophet 5, ppg wave 2.3).

the plugin is Knzaudio Midifier

Bidule modular environment seems to be able to do ANYTHING, at least all I tried (outboard gear triggers, algorithm sequencers, guitar rigs...), works standalone, as VST and Rewire... Less complex than Reactor, IMHO.

Built in sequencers are not the full solution for you, though.

not want you want at all but kinda cool anyway...

bigseq looks cool GaryG, but of corse it lacks a
pitch row , so now it's a gater filter in an analog
sequencer fashion, bidule looks pretty good, maybe i'll look into that. thnx for your reply

Yup, especially when MIDI automated. The only way it could be significantly improved that I can think of is having an option for more steps than sixteen, and keyboard control of pitch steps (instead of mousing).

How odd. I find it inspiring and simple.
