Win the amp !
The Website must still be done.

Rules:
Make the MAIN Soundspectral amp web page. (one page)
(including link buttons/menue to other pages.)
It should look esthetic(nice), easy for the eye.

I quite like the look of:
http://www.tc-helicon.com/
http://ag-works.net/default.asp?page=plugins.goodies
Just to give you an idea.

Please post your web-design links here or PM them to me.

The design that will be used, will win and get the amp.
(the moment it is relased.)

All entries will get ONE special amp model,
that will NOT be included in the initial release.
(but can be added to it.)

So everyone making one page, can win something. ;)

Good luck and thanks !

LOL!! Now you try do let others do YOUR job on designing a website?! :-o
Dude, wake up - get serious

Design the AmpSim and win an AmpSim!

Yup, that's right! Simply design me an authentic sounding AmpSim, and email it to me and in return I will present you with an AmpSim! You need only provide a $50 administration fee and the AmpSim is all yours!

What could be more simple?!

:)

Championass - Please do everyone a favour and shut the f**k up, you arent clever, big or funny. Yes Rene hasn't done things as best as he could but jesus you guys really need to get out more if you have put your life on hold for 2 years for his product. It will be finished when its finished, untill then here are some things to do to pass the time for those of you who are stuck to this thread like championrabbit's tool in an exhaust pipe:

1. Get a girlfriend
2. Move out of your mom's basement
3. Put away the dungeons and dragons and take a step outside the front door

Now shut it with all the flames. Im not on either persons side but its just getting rediculous (especially a certain championn00b)

If you dont have anything productive to say, then dont say anything at all *looks back at the last 20+ pages of flaming*

Now a question to Rene: Can you tell me a bit more info on the mic simulation/placement?

Since Rene has not modelled his ampsim using real miked-up amps, but rather MP3s, your question is every bit as much of a waste of time as anything else in this thread.

:)

Doesnt matter if the physics behind it are inncorrect - as long as the end result sounds decent im happy.

e.g if he models it on that one mp3 i posted of acle using his powerball and the neumann mic - i will be a happy er..turtle

I think you're amusing Mr. Wabbit.

I'd suggest that if one considers an ampsim that is modelled using 192kbps MP3s to be sufficiently accurate to be described as a 'model' rather than a 'sketch', the mic type and placement is pretty immaterial...

You're quite right though, I (and others) have wasted way too much time on this, I shall withdraw.

Cheers!

not really - if the end sound is close to the real characteristics of the amp and mic then I fail to see your point. Yes its a rough model - if I wanted a dual rectifier and a cab and a mic then I'd buy one. But I dont - The sim sounds good from the posted clips and seems fairly tweakable. Like I said if i wanted a perfect Deizel VH4 sound I'd have to shell out a good 6k, but for a fraction of that I can have something that sounds similar, and at the end of the day its the sound that counts, not the actual "modelling."

Oh and good riddance to bad vermin :D

I have to say I can agree on some points from just about every view point...however I will also say this has gone on long enough imo. I think that in the last 24 hours he has seen enough "put up or shut up".

So haven't we all, it's my suggestion that at this point in time we all look at his way of dodging anything that questions his honesty, his stall tactics, his poor business sense and the fact this thread 19 1/2 months old.

Midiworks is not waves, he is not NI, he is not IK, he is....wait who is he? What has he done so far? See my point, we don't know a thing about him except that he says him and his team are designing an amp sim. Until he puts his contact info up and tells us who he is I think this amp sim should be considered a fantasy.

So let him design it  Let him put it out, but let's stop feeding him. IMO he is as much of troll as anyone at this point. So I am suggesting that we just stop with asking him questions (let the newbies get all excited) and ignore him until he has something to offer.

I know he's going to remind about xmas tube, big deal, that's like me posting one 12 bar riff and saying "see I rock". I won't participate anymore in his amp sim project, and by that I mean I won't be pro or con anymore...I wont discuss it with anyone after this post. I will pipe in when discussing any thing that is not directly related to the amp sim.

However if he doesn't see what's going on here by now he never will, if we can't see what's going on here we never will.

I still think after all this time that this thread should be locked until such a time that he can prove he is as much a developer as the smallest developer here (though there are no small developers, just small minds...but I think you get my point). Though I can understand why KVR would want to keep this thread open to encourage new developers.

to change an old saying slightly..

give any fool enough thread and they will hang themselves

I say the ball is in his court..is he for real? Or is he a fool? Will he hang from the rope he has spun from this thread? Or will he use that rope to hoist the mainsail and sail on the wind? It's up to him at this point, I say it's time to wait and see...good luck Rene.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

That there is strange comedy gold. I don't know why, but it is.

Good idea. She's in the mail. Once here, a little inflation and we are good to go.

Another very good idea.

Whoa nelly. "take a step outside the front door". Are you f**king crazy. Have you been outside my front door. I assumed that when you said move out of your basement you meant to an upstairs room. No way Im going outside into that mess. Ooops, doorbell, gotta go. The internet grocery order is here.

Well spoken Hink. I'm actually too for a lock-down. But then again I find championrabbit's (and other's) comments most amusing. And after all, it's not difficult to understand why there's commotion. This ampsim is supposed to be LIGHTYEARS ahead of anything existing. In a schoolyard, you'd get beaten to a pulp for such talk.. OK. Signing off.

I don't see the big fuss about the Website request. Rene, both directly and indirectly, has shown that in his living conditions and social environment, he doesn't have thousands of U.S. dollars with which to hire a "professional" web-designer.

If somebody out there enjoys doing such things as a hobby anyhow (not to mention that the TC Helicon page is just simple CSS-based design that could take less than a day), it's a potentially win-win situation. As long as the would-be designer is fully aware that there may not ever be a return on invested time, it's their right to make that decision. In return, Rene is offering a commodity that doesn't yet exist. This is ALSO something that's done all the time in business. Ever hear of investors? They pay lots of money for products that don't exist.

FFS, I've spent literally hundreds of hours writing user manuals and providing technical support FOR FREE! because I enjoy it and I do what I can to help. I offered to help out GVST with their manuals because at the time I couldn't afford an actual "donation", but I used Graham's plug-ins so much that I wanted to give something back to him. When BetabugsAudio started, I spent many hours brainstorming not only pure text, but also conceptual "raison d'etre" type things with Mully and Paul. That's my time invested... for what? A freeware company. ;) Am I an "idiot" because I applied some of my skills to helping out a project I'm interested in? We didn't even have a webspace purchased at the time, so there wasn't a "tangible" entity that I was investing my time into, but I believed that there would be. And now there is.

Finally, when did the barter system become so reviled? In many ways, it was the best economic system going for a while, and in many ways I'd like to see its return. In many parts of the world, goods and services are offered by barter. Why is it so god-awful that he'd like to trade his product for someone else's? And as mentioned, the fact that his product is still 'vapour' doesn't hold water (no pun intended) as a logical counter-argument until the idea of investment is addressed. In this kind of situation, if you waited for completion of a project (eg. the final coding and GUI), you'd then be guilty of "unprofessional" management of the project by not having the website ready to go.

It's unbelievable how desperately some of you want to criticize instead of either a) ignoring and keeping your compulsively-flapping lips still for a moment; or b) trying to relate to the other person.
