I think what you want to do is have a filter that sends MIDI volume/pan to sampletank's various MIDI channels.

I use the XYZControl plugin from this site:

http://www.haydxn.net/tools.html

Combined with the MIDIChannelizer plugin from this site:

http://www.niallmoody.com/ndcplugs/ndcmidi.htm

On each channel that is assigned to the sampletank rack, put the XYZcontrol first, then the channelizer. Set the channelizer to that instruments MIDI channel. Then in XYZControl, I assign the xCC to 7 (vol) and the yCC to 10 (pan). This works great with any multilane VST in a rack (SampleTank, Kontakt, etc). Also, you can save the XYZControl settings as a prefix (fxb) and just load it every time so you don't have to always do do much twiddling.

Hope this helps!

I use the Behringer BCF2000 in mackie-control-mode. The faders control the volume/pan-filters so I must find a way to make the volume/pan-filters control the volume of each Sampletank-channel... How?

GREAT QUESTION! I use the BFC2000 as well, in Mackie-enu mode. My guess is there is no way to control the sampletank MIDI Cc's directly in this mode. You could probably build a custom surface though.

But let me ask you this: why not just use the BCF as designed, to control the TRACK volume/pan of the tracks 1-8? It will independently control the volume/pan of eight "lanes" of the sampletank rack just fine this way, it's just that you are controlling the audio returned to tracktion, not the MIDI. Are you assigning 8 sampletank outputs to eight tracks in Tracktion?

no, I only use two outputs.

ahhh...check out the documentation on setting up a rack and using it on multiple channels. Makes life with the BCF and SampleTank much easier!

ok, thanks
