Uniwire and DP

Last night I updated my Receptor to 1.5 and started fooling around with Uniwire. Worked great with Live, running on my 15" Al PowerBook. I know the AU Uniwire plugin is on the way, but just for grins I decided to try the Uniwire plugin in Digital Performer (4.61) via AudioEase VST Wrapper. Seems to work great!
I had about 6 tracks of MIDI firing different instruments on the Receptor, with audio coming back on a single instance of Uniwire Instrument VST. Audio latency is not great (1024), but if I use it in MIDI-only mode and monitor off the Receptor outputs during programming, it's not an issue. Then I can enable audio again and render tracks as over Uniwire into DP for mixing...slick.
Did not test extensively - can't comment on plugin delay compensation or long-term stability, but the good news is that DP/Receptor users don't have to wait for the Audio Unit version to take advantage of Uniwire now.

DP added complete automatic plugin delay compensation in the last year or so, I think it was in v. 4.5. I don't know if this works in 'wrapped' plugins...I will test this and report back.DanTimis wrote:AFAIK there is no delay compensation in DP. The delay compensation in Live (and Cubase) works fine.
When do you anticipate the AU version of Uniwire will be available?

Update:
Delay compensation doesn't work with 'wrapped' VST Uniwire....also, Uniwire proves to be unstable with DP in this configuration, has crashed several times today. Guess I'll wait for the AU version of Uniwire.

I'll answer my own question:
I decided to buy FXpansion VST-AU Adapter, and it seems to work very nicely with Uniwire in DP 4.6.1. I haven't had any of the crashes the accompanied using it with AudioEase VST Wrapper. It also gives me access to a few other VSTs in DP that didn't play nice with VST Wrapper.

Did delay compensation work with the FX wrapper? (They're the BFD people you know, and that gives 'em high marks in my book : )
