Downloaded *latest drivers for (2 year old)Delta 44. All looks well in hardware, however, even with (e to e)enabling everywhere, I can have a midi softsynth loaded with sound (but with yellow warning symbol), or the analogue tracks recorded from my VS880...but not both. All settings, inputs-outputs checked and triple-checked.

Tried ASIO4ALL. It shows 'íllogical' symbol on everything, including Delta 44 main driver.

I'm starting to suspect that the latest drivers might not be (totally)suitable. M-Audio seem to offer a variety based on the last couple of years?
Using a çlean-ish HP-Compaq D330 (2.8mhz-1 gig mem, ...with no visible conflicts...5.2 something latency.)

Chester...(VS ex-user) maybe you can shed some light?
All suggestions welcome.

i've been using a Delta 44 (latest driver) for quite awhile without any problems. the midi track with yellow exclamation mark--doesn't that mean that it doesn't have an appropriate midi output? have you tried more than one soft-synth? it sounds like the synth isn't being recognized as a midi "output/translator" so having the midi track assigned to an audio track without a working translator (using the term "translator" for a soft-synth which translates midi to audio) is causing the "!" and possibly the problem. another possible issue--although i'm not positive about this one--is that your soft-synth doesn't operate at the khz setting that you are using for your recording tracks. try 44.1 and see if that helps.

Never had a single hitch with Delta 66, including the latest drivers.

Not sure, but guessing you have something set up wrong. Can you post a screenshot of the problematic archive or better yet, make an edit with only T's internal instruments and archive it - then upload it here.

Thanks guys...heading now to music PC...other side of town. Will update (hopefully screenshot) later this weekend if poss. Yesterday, slightly older drivers indicated in ASIO4All as green/usable. However Traktion didn't want to play ball with A4ALL, moved back to Delta to square-one. Now going over there to follow your instructions. I'll update this thread before end of weekend.

Have now had everything working...midi...analogue... However, Traktion has destabalised so much only removal gave me my PC back! With every type of clearance/removal I can think of (and T's uninstall is mighty leaky), I need to dig deeper for a clean start. If anyone knows what to look for to clean up whatever it might be that can cause problems when no conflicts show up in info/hardware etc...I'd like to know. (Have disabled on-board soundcard. Now have just clean latest Delta drivers and good sound from videos etc.) But what doesn't Traktion like to work with? My PC isn't internetted, has nothing other than Office installed. GS soft-synth might be lurking somewhere? Hardware windows show nice clean conflict-free icons. Next step anyone?

Imagine writing a Traktion quick-start, based on a clean XP, 2-3 meg processor, cleanish hard disc, no internet, games etc. What points would ensure the user can record a bit of analogue (2 tracks simul-sync would be nice)...and use a soft-synth...even the packaged one...and hear playback while recording the midi-keyboard?

It was my dream...now I am nearly there...but only with a GS or SoundMax engine working and then with slow-note playing ability. Something simple must be wrong, but what? Delta 44 seems happy, no Win XP problems anywhere. Why can't Traktion recognise and play (simul-sync its own JX-XYZ pre-set synth with track-playback?)

All help gratefully received...if anyone is out there.

ASIO4ALL doesn't seem to like M-Audio in general; I have much the same issues with my Audiophile 2496 and GuitarPort (which doesn't recognize the ASIO in Tracktion anyway).
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Yeh, given up on asio4all...still, after mucho fiddling and clicking, now get green icons to say all is okay...if only!!! I get nice analogue tracks from my old VS, but can't play a note on my midi-controller, all analogue goes silent. The soft-synths might play if a filter is opened before anything else is done...otherwise, that won't play either. I've now learned that setting up an extremely complicated thing like 1 USB synth-controller and Traktion...is mind-numbing. Pity I didn't buy one of those 'plug and play' computers with XP on a P4 and nothing else...nice and clean. Oh my god, I did!!!! Bummer Traktion Bummer Delta 44...bummer midi ins and outs and thru's and ups and downs.
