I have an audigy soundcard, don#t know the model but its the one with a card that goes in the pc and a unit that slips in the cd bay which has line inputs and a headphone socket, optical in and midi in and out.
I bought it ages ago and then discovered it made strange noises so wrote to Creative and they tell me its for Win 98 really and send me new drivers. Everything was fine for ages.
In T2 if I pan left to right what happens is pan right and the sound goes off, pan left and it goes back to normal. Stereo tracks come out fine with everything balanced correctly but pan right and the volume goes down with it.
I hope I am explaining this so you can understand.
Its the same in FL5 and Media player.
The amp checked out fine, no problem with that.
If any of you guys have a clue as to what this is I would appreciate the help in sorting it out.

I dunno, but if I bump it maybe some local nightowls will see it.

Sounds like it has a defect. This is in the hardware, and there's likely nothing that can be done about it, save replacement.

It sounds like the mono tracks are the problem. I have this happen when I record into my soundcard which basically splits a stereo input into left and right mono if "treat input as stereo pair" is checked in Tracktion. My workaround is to use tracktion's patch bay filter. Simply load it onto your track and then draw arrows from left input to right output and right input to left output. Your pan should work as normal after doing this.

It can be something as simple as a dud cable - it's amazing how often they die over a period of time. Try swapping them all over with ones you know are good.

Cheers. I got it going through the headphone socket at the moment so I think its time to stump up the cash and go and buy a proper card.
