I'd like to sequence it the old fashioned way, using the drum editor in Midi Studio. Is this possible?

It would be neat if this toggle was down in the KIT/STYLE-area so it was easily accessible in all screens.

I wouldn't mind a checkbox under preferences either, to have preferred defaultmode.
