Hi,
Does DK+ have midi out to control external samplers yet? I'd buy this in a second if it does but I cant seem to find that in the writeups.
thanks
steve

it does have a midi out, although I think it only functions as a thru and does not pass step sequencer info (from my experiments).
But why would you want to use another sampler? The real strengths in DK+ are in the sampling/velocity layering areas. The step sequencer is great, but I really can't imagine using it to control another sampler.

I have many samplers, and i'd like to just get a step sequencer - this one looks quite nice but I want to be able to use my many other samples with it as well as its own.

Hello,
if the are samples wouldn't be easy to load them in DK+ than to use DK+ seq to control another sampler?

I don't think it would, not with all the velocity layers and stuff. There's also external gear and many romplers where you can't access the sound. Think for instance of using Sampletank2 or Sonic synth 2 with the DK+-sequencer.liqih wrote:Hello,

I probably should shut up, because I don't think I would use this myself. I don't even think Sonar supports it. But I do use Sonar's session drummer in a similar fashion so I realise the potential. This would be much more accessible then SD when editing. And it would add incentive to build up a patternlibrary for DK+.
Btw - a nice feature would be importing and exporting session drummer format midifiles into DK+, they're ordinary midifiles but preconfigured in patterns so you could load a whole style in one step. There's several third party libraries out there.

Ya basically, i love the ease of a step sequencer, its kinda how i like to think about drums, but I have DFHS, and Kontakt with a million drum sample libraries (StormDrum for example) - so it would just be nice to use this step sequencer to midiout to the sampler and trigger that. Or like jamstix does, host a drum vst within this vst.
