T2 and a Digi002R with an external editor?

So here's the deal...I'm basically a defector from Pro Tools LE and plan to keep my Digi002R for now so that I can still collaborate with all my other musical cohorts who still use PT 100%.

I decided to start using an external editor to edit files & loops from within Tracktion. Here's where the problem lies: The Digi002R ASIO driver can only support 1 application at a time, so when Tracktion opens up the external editor - it can't access the driver and therefore can't communicate with the 002R.

If I install the MME wavedrivers can I assign my editor to that and keep tracktion on the ASIO drivers? Any other ideas short of purchasing another audio interface?

I didn´t buy Digi002 because of the lmitations on implemented asio driver (no multidevice, no multiclient, 48 khz only ...).

The posibility of using T2 was top priority 4 me!!!!

That's really a oo2 question more than a Tracktion one...

Tracktion will be ok with it; the question is can the oo2 work with ASIO and MME at the same time. I would probably ask this in a digi forum. BTW welcome to Tracktion.

Well, I was unable to get this to work. My best guess at this point is that the Digi002R can only be accessed by one driver at a time. The editor worked with the MME drivers in stand alone, but when launched from T2, could not access the driver. Anyone have any further ideas?

Brett, that's a bummer.

Here's a far-flung idea. What kind of a system do you have - any possibility there is another soundcard in your system that you could use for the audio editor alone?

Scott, I think there is on-board audio in the motherboard. Definitely worth looking into. Thanks!

I have a diferent audio Interface, but the same problem. Now, before opening the audio file with "Edit file with..." option, I change the audio inteface in the T2 settings to <none>. I use ASIO drivers.
