I get an email today after a month and a half (and an email I sent them last nite) that it hasn't shown up there yet...but if I can prove I sent the cable they'll replace it. See when they to;d me I could no longer take it to a store for replacement and I'd have to ship it to them I protested some. That was not the deal and I shouldn't have to pay for shipping. So they sent me a ups label, I took it to ups and dropped it off...they held all the cards (I guess that will teach me for standing on principles ), they are the ones with my proof...I guess they feel it's all a scam for me to get one cable :tantrum: :hihi:
Did you write down the tracking number?
There should be a "customer receipt" type label that was attached to the UPS label for your records.

I had been waiting for a long time to make a decision which program I updated, Amplitube or Guitar Rig. IK Multimedia helped me decide on Guitar Rig 2, and I could not be happier. The sounds for guitar and bass are great, but it is the step sequencers, loopers, and lfo modifiers that have inspired me more than straight amp and effect emulators ever had. I might consider upgrading to AT2 if it comes without the hardware, but it already seems out of date to me.

I think Friday I might get me a PODxt live, I have a POD 2.0 now, but this thread has really got me thinking about it. I still do not want to have my pc handling the extra cpu usage for guitar processing...but I would like more possibilities...;)

that's on my list too, however it would go in my live rig...ironic that I want the xt live for recording...but I'm watching ebay for a PSA 1...;)

They always seem go way too expensive there. I have a mate with really bad carpal tunnel issues, and the sod sold his PSA off without telling me for a paltry $200. Clean as could be, it was.

Blimey...could have sold it to you for $350 and both been happy as clams. :hihi:

podXT live is pretty decent, and as you said, it won't use your CPU to process the sounds. You can take it anywhere with you, and most ppl like the sounds of it over POD 2.0. Line6 is lacking behind on firmware and software updates though.

I'm hoping a2 comes out eventually. I get a free upgrade to it from a1.

FWIW, I just got my GR2/RigKontrol2 package a few hours ago and so far it seems to be really nice.

The soundbanks coming with it certainly need some tweaking (well, actually I won't tweak any of them but just do my own, which is super easy), no wonder people didn't find *that* chugga chugga sound - but they certainly demonstrate the flexibility of that thing.

One thing I was pretty much afraid about: switching sounds via Rig Kontrol. But it's all just nice, faster than on a POD XT and almost as fast as on my Boogie/looper rig, especially if you keep using the same amp model and speaker sims.

Rig Kontrol seems to make up for a small and convenient live controller, even if I allready miss some things, such as the thing throwing out plain MIDI messages. Perhaps they'll fix that one day...
As far as the audio interface goes, on lowest buffer sizes it certainly is a CPU hog (well, GR2 partially is as well), but I can run like the most complexed patches fine at 44.1, 2ms (in total) with high rez activated. Wouldn't be able to do much else on the 1.83 Ghz Pentium M though, but that's ok as I plan to use it for live stuff only.

As far as the famous chugga chugga goes, it's probably not there instantly. Well, I'm sure one could come up with a rather good solution, but I don't have the axes to do so, and it's not as if I'd ever need that sound.
I'm actually quite happy with the clean and crunchy sounds possible, will gladly post some samples in the next days.

For now I'm pretty much happy with that purchase, finally an easy to use live/laptop setup at my disposal, just what I wanted.
Need to look out for some super-safe laptop stand now...

Doesn't exactly belong into this thread, but hey, at least it's out...

So is Amplitube 2 finally out yet, 180+ pages later? :hihi: If not it must be a pretty nasty run of late bugs to delay it so long. Seriously.

No way, man.... we must hit 200.... we must!!!

Squids wrote:I like the character of the modeling and DSM. Is it a perfect exact replica of every amp? No. Is it much closer to the real thing than a lot of other sims? I think. It is harder to tell with amps than with the stomps. With stomps you hear it and go "THAT'S the MXR phaser!!! That's the FUZZFACE!!!!". So, to me AT2 is even worth it JUST for the stomps.
Yeah, the Delays in this thing are... HUGE.

I'm doing my bit to help hit the 200 mark!
