You have a TDM system without hardware? You'll need more than a screenshot to convince me of that!

Yes, please provide screenshots.

Exactly. Support for M-Audio cards exists in ProTools M-Powered, which is ostensibly a modified version of PT LE. LE only supports specific Digidesign hardware.Mr. Tunes wrote:WTF? I'm so effing confused how that's possible
Meanwhile the hardware compatibility page for ProTools TDM specifically states it requires Digidesign hardware
http://www.digidesign.com/compato/osx/hd/
Note that Digidesign make a clear distinction on their pages between their 'own' Digidesign hardware, and M-Audio hardware.Pro Tools HD software will not work without Digidesign hardware connected
And anyways, why would you buy a TDM system, then not use the included £1500-a-card TDM system? Not only that, but if you own 6.7 or later, the update to 6.9 is free, So why still be using 6.7?

Sorry for goin OT there. I just wanted to show how much Digidesign rip off their customers. The Core card basically has the same DSP as the accel card, however it costs like 5x as much :s. PT TDM
uses the core card as a kind of dongle so you are forced to buy it. Any how, it is possible to make PT think that the M audio is a core card.
Back on topic, I would be inclined to keep the Fire box and learn Sonar. Otherwise I would save yourself some cash, get an M audio FW card and M-powered. If your not into MIDI too much, the audio features on PT are great and very quick.

WTF!!!!Does this remove the limitations of the LE system? Like max 32 ch. for instance?
Of course this can't be legal.
And for Digidesign ripping their customers off. You're not paying only for the Core card. It comes with software. If it is worth it is up to each customer to decide. It's not like it is a secret or something.

it runs 64 channel, beat detective on multi channels etc. Digidesign could sell TDM to m-audio users if they wanted, no core card required, but obviously they wouldnt wanna do that.

No both TDM and LE had this limitation but PT 7 got rid of itjupiter8 wrote:WTF!!!!Does this remove the limitations of the LE system? Like max 32 ch. for instance?
What a nutty discovery this thread has revealed.
