You all are really missing the point. If Tracktion had a mixer.........I could put ice cubes and tequila and lime juice and triple sec in it, and it could make me margaritas while I was enjoying the fine interface it has now......

Ok, feature request for frozen margarita dispenser noted.

I prefer to think up interesting alternative solutions to any potential benefits a mixer might offer. I would not want a mixer, if one ever showed up, to slow creative development of the current approach.

I like the idea of track numbers visible. I wouldn't mind having an alternating track color scheme. A subtle but visual cue when there are los of tracks veertically compressed.

i dont get it man this is like me asking for a tracker interface. I use freaking revisit. its a tracker vsti interface. why dont you just get those daniel mixers if you want a mixer? or you can get a cheaper interface to control like $200 or $300 to mix. or you could use some other program.

Its just silly

Has anyone posted a poll about this?

A few times, at least. Mixer always gets ranked very low in priorities.

OK, how about this for a "almost a mixer but still true to The Tracktion Spirit (TM)" idea:

For the purposes of this post: "mixer filters" = Vol/ Pan; T's EQ; Volume Meter

1. When you select a mixer filter, it show in the properties panel, just like now BUT the display should be made more compact, so it will take as little space as possible, without losing clarity.
2. When you multiselect several filters, they are displayed inm the properties panel in a way similar to a traditional mixer*, and grouped by tracks. This way you can have a mixer for one track, or several, and containing only what you want and use.

* One filter below the other, in the same order they are on the track.

Problem:
1) for lack of Photoshop skills, this idea will be ignored. Anyone willing to make a mock-up? Rock?
2)Display can get crowded.

Improvements:
* To simplify things, filters could be auto-selected every time you select a track (optional)
* There could be a hotkey that select all relevant filters and display them
* Properties panel can be made resizable, for semi-full screen mixer.

OK, Im totally anti a Mixer, I mix with my ears not my eye's...But this makes sense, as much as I don't want need a mixer, and would much rather have a hardware interface for my ears, This still seems like it would be really usefull in the Pre-Mix general level setting stage, not to mention if you could control a panning all at once, I tend to want to quick pan groups of tracks at once more than set volumes!!!

Ron, don't be a git.

I agree with the sentiment that, "a Tracker is a Tracker," "Cubase is Cubase," and "Tracktion is Tracktion," but that other comment was off base.
