They said they are sorry for the delay, but it takes time to apply all the make-up, you know...

and if so i´d hate to have contributed so much nonsense to this everlasting 400+-pages thread.

if it would be 400 without the controler i´d maybe go for it. but if they dont sell it without the controler
they seem to miss a point:
there are people like me (and i am a professional) who´re not guitarists, but producers and composers
using the guitar in their production process without feeling the need to have a foot-thingie. i mean, why should i for one need that?
i sit there, pick a preset, tweak it, start playing and recording and and thats it.

squids, i would really like to have a word on that .. ;)

putte...you have AT1 so you'll be able to get a software only upgrade just like NI does from GR1 to GR2...

I think what's going on is you can get a software only upgrade or a software/hardware upgrade but they won't be offering it without the hardware if you don't already own AT1.

There's no diff here from what NI is doing. Not that I don't agree that selling the hardware and software separately or in a package is a better marketing scheme but I'm not in their marketing department.

And if msrp is $700 I would put the street price closer to $550 maybe even as low as $500...

I'm also guessing that if you have the software upgrade that you'll be able to get the hardware as an upgrade for a street price of $250-$300...maybe even lower...again, I'm just guessing...

I've got the software upgrade coming free and I doubt I'll buy the hardware. It would be handy but I rarely play live and if I do, I always play with a bunch of gear heads who can supply me with any kind of set up I need ;-)

That's the best gear...stuff somebody else paid for
That's insane!

$700? Ah-huh, GR2, and most, with the exception of Line 6 POD, Guitar port are horrible.

If any of these react like a Fender Tonemast, Mesa Rectifier, Bogner, Marshall JCM 800/900 and react to player fingers, then maybe, but I recall AT1 very very NOISEY....especially on the high gain stages.

What I can't understand is why not add a real tube to the amp sim (beside VOX which to me sounds all the same, has no FENDER, MARSHALL OR RECTIFIER sounds, so what's the point), amp sims still have a bit of a way to go. Now with lead sounds, it can be helpful to change the sound during a mix, but so far, the line 6 leads the way, with the PSA 1.1 a great sounding box so far and I would spend my $$$$ on a PSA 1.1 before ever spending it on a AMP sim that will probably have latency, noise on high gain, and won't sound that good. I still get stunned by those that love the GR2. IMHO, these people have never played a mesa, tonemaster or groove tube solo 75 real tube amp.

So use a Flutophone or a Tonette instead.

I traded both of them in for the xt line ....I think I got ripped off on the Tonette...I paid at least ten times what they gave me for it

BTW I pushed down on the pedal but it didn't go faster...I think it's broken...

I actually went into my old store (different locale though) a guy I went through the company training with still works there...but that was in Salem NH, they had 3 in Manchester NH (where tuz lives) so I went there...but my buddy got the sale anyhow...my sansamp died last week, so I figured it was time for an upgrade...so now I got a POD 2.0 and the xt live...oh I bought a screaming chicken too...:hihi:

But GR2 does! That's why GR2 is the BEST and AT2 will suck if it's ever even released and why Pod's suck, and you can't even reamp with them without using stupid sucky cables and cables are why guitars suck and I play guitar and that's why I suck and I'm in this thread and that's why this thread sucks, and it sucks that this thread never ends, and now that I think about it, I take it back GR2 sucks because NI suks, and dongles suck, and anything I can control with my feet sucks too cause my feet smell bad so they suck, and take it from me I know about this stuff, I'm a professional engineer of sucking, and I make sucky music with sucky gear that sucks better than the sucky crap this thread has been about!

Ok...I'm better now. Bring on AT2.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.
