Regaurding the plug-ins files for T2: I have all my plug-in files set up just the way I like with the last update versions. So do I need to use the newer plug files to correspond with the latest update? Or can I use my same files without any problems?

Unless the plugins were updated (check the changelog), there should be no problems.
Even if the plugin were updated, you are not required to do, but it is probably better you do.

So if I do switch over to the newly downloaded plug files, I assume that my presets will not.

I have all my plugs, samples, projects, etc on D:\Tracktion\plugins\, and the Tracktion app, docs, and user settings installed on C:\Tracktion\. What I do is:
1. rename the app folder to something different C:\Tracktion.1\
2. install the update to C:\Tracktion\
3. run a diff utility and copy changed items to where I want it.
4. Remove C:\Tracktion and rename C:\Tracktion.1 to C:\Tracktion
The diff utility I use is "Beyond Compare" (awesome prog for $30, I use a for a lot of things). Gives you a point-n-shoot side-by-side view of differences.
Worst case you can get by without a diff utility by opening 2 Explorer windows and comparing files dates and sizes, then dragging what you want, where you want it.
