I just wanted to let people know that on Intel motherboards with onboard sound using intel's SoundMAX control panel that it can cause errors when using traction with the Mackie XD2. The error occurs when opening Traction. It is :
Error Opening Audio Device:
Error Setting Up Audio Output Pin!
To fix the problem temporarily hit CtrlAltDel and disable smax4pnp.exe
to fix more permenantly go to RUN and type MSCONFIG
Go to startup and disable the same thing and apply.
Beware Intel Mobo Users

Tried that but Tracktion still not happy.
So ironic that only sound card I haven't got working with Mackie software is Mackie hardware!!
All the other progs are happy with the XD-2!

Uninstalling tracktion and reinstalling it actually worked. It seems that Tracktion MUST be installed after the Spike XD-2.
