Mr. Tingle wrote:Beno - the bug fix with archiving looped audio is not really very helpful. Nothing has really changed (as far as I can tell). I am still going to have to go through every single edit and render each looped clip, thats alot of work!!!

In fact, anyone thinking that this is fixed and archives their edits will loose the audio! yikes.

I thought the whole point of the fix was to stop the unsuspecting user of loosing audio when archiving.

Is there no way of enabling T to correctly archive these edits that have looped clips with deleted takes?

A little frustrated,

Michael
are thease new arkives you talk about?

the old arkives made with the last update will still have the problem

but the new arkives made with 2.1.0.11 should be fine?

plz keep us posted?

Subz is right. Unfortuantely the bug was in the creation of the archive. So the older archives did not correctly store the information in the archive about the loop clips. There is no way for us to get that info back which is why you still have to manually replace the correct take in the edit. We have fixed the bug so that future archives will store the loop take information properly.

I wonder if there is some way that T could check an archiving edit that had these looped clips and go, "oh your one of those mutant looped audio clips I shall treat you in a special way" sort of thing.

After all, they do play correclty before archiving.

But if the archiving process stripped the necessary information (and it probably did, which is likely the cause of the bug in the first place), there's not much way for T to know how to 'fix' it. :(

It should be noted that "Doesn't solve my immediate problem" and "isn't very helpful" are two different things. The bug fix is extremely helpful because future archives won't exhibit this behaviour. It didn't fix our immediate problem, but it safeguards against future ones, which is pretty helpful.

And does the transport bug exists for you ? I mean the backward button sends me forward ?
same bug here... but only with the German localized version.
After switching back to English the transport buttons work again correctly.
Hello,
I mailed to Mackie support and they sent me a new "Deutsch.lang"-file. That fixed it.

As long as Mackie is aware and ready to live the consequences of many unwitting users in the future pulling their hair out and turning red with rage when they realise they have just lost their archived songs.

I personally have over 30 songs with these edits, thats not just one song, thats almost a years worth of songs! And the only reason they will be saved is because I follow this forum, which is not true for the majority of T users.

I personally could code a solution if I had the code so I'm sure Mackie could do it.

This IS a big issue, honest.
