I really agree. I hope they announce the reason of the delay on there website soon.
Or maybe Squids could get some info for us, for the reason of the delay:)

Unfortunately, with a thread this long Squids could be posting information here repeatedly (and has.)

Somewhere in all of this and maybe it wasn't even this thread, but SOMEWHERE on kvr I remember Squids talking about copy protection and a few other things that the developers passed along to him as to reasons for the delay and then he got jumped on for what they said.

Also somewhere on kvr he's mentioned the mid March thing and several other dates based upon what he was being told...don't shoot the messenger.

Frankly, if I was Squids, I'd dissapear out of this thread and tell people to contact IK directly. ;-) He's got a company to run and products to release that have nothing to do with IK and yet he steps in here and takes your abuse over how much he likes it, how great he thinks it will be and he gets told how the OTHER company that's missing the deadlines is a bunch of clowns who don't know how to run a business. I wish I could make the kind of revenues they make being clowns ;-)

As for CSR, the end of January came and went although somebody posted something about CSR shipping from audio-midi a while back. Now whether or not they were actually shipping, I don't know, I didn't order it from them. I ordered it from esoundz because they told me straight up it was a pre-order.

I dunno, maybe it's just me but I see no point in getting bent out of shape over a release date on a new product. If I'm not currently using it, I can't miss it. Bug fix releases, that's a different story.

Is is bad marketing to keep missing dates you've put out there? Damn straight. Is it unfair, yeah, it's unfair to people who bought AT1 with the promise of a free upgrade within a certain period of time.

However, if you didn't, STFU  You're bitchin' about something that doesn't even affect you...buy something else.

I noticed that you answered A3ntar's remark about CSR, but mentioned nothing of AT2 being relesed in February, or mid March as A3ntar has mentioned. So when are we to expect AT2?
Please tell me this is not true... :x

I'm one of those guys that beergeek mentions: I bought AT1 purely on the hope that AT2 will be as good or better than GuitarRig 2 (which is superb).

Squids, let's say that it does not ship until mid-March - how long do you think it will be before copies ship to you and you can then start shipping out to AT1 owners?

Actually no, a serious company would wait until the product is done. However, a serious company would make the change on the web site as early as possible if a change was being made and a proper information post about what the delay is about would come with that change in release date.

All that being said............This is freakin guitar emulation software not a cancer cure. Get over yourselves, it's just not that important.

No matter what you guys say in these posts you will do one of if not all of the following:

a)buy the software
b)not buy the software
c)download the crack
d)bitch about some obscure feature that doesn't work the way you want
e) a and d and h
f) b and c and h
g) b and c and d and h
h) complain because it is too expensive

I doubt the delays will have any impact on the number of users who end up with AT2.

In the mean time we really need to hit 200 pages before AT2 is release. Otherwise this has all been a waste of time...............

I gues you only see the surface...a waste of time? I think not....in fact there has been a lot of good info and ideas exchanged in this thread. If you look at the thread being just about AT2's release then you're missing a lot...but I've enjoyed this thread and will continue to do so...I guess some people see the positive and some get stuck on the negative......if nothing else I have gained respect for many, especially squids, lost respct for a few others...but this is far from a waste of time...it's what forums are for...;)

I wouldn't hold my breath for an explanation for the holdup...if it's because of the syncrosoft dongle, IKMM would be smart not to admit it openly. The only choice is to wait patiently and decide if the product is worth it to you when it arrives. However, I think IK will be missing the boat if they do not release a "dongleless" demo. I would think the Italians will come to their senses and at least have some limited functionality demo for AT2. At this point many won't jump through hoops (i.e. installing a dongle) just to "try" AT2, unless the word of mouth (and not a particular sea creatures mouth) is that AT2 is the be-all-end-all of amp-sims. I think the reality is, in terms of sound quality, AT2 will have it's strengths. It's just a question of what those stregnths will lie in comparison to what's out already.

Hink......Booballa.....Babs..........it was sarcasm. Totally my bad that it wasn't clear, but it was straight up sarcasm. In fact, the point was to spin to the positive side of things. When the software comes out it will either be something people want or not. All the carping and bitching, moaning, hand wringing and name calling won't change that.

I followed the thread specifically to hear from you, GuitarJeff, Squids, Sascha and a few others that I know have a clue what to do with the program. There indeed was quite a bit of good information along the way.

LOL...
I agree with Hink. This thread is bigger than AT2. I enjoy reading everybodys thought, ideas, and replies.
As far as AT2 goes...I am one of thge people who purchased AT1 to receive AT2. I currently use GR 1&2, and I'm just not satisfied with the tones/sounds that I am getting. I know that it is not a cure for cancer, etc...but just feel that I am getting dismissed by IKMM. I purchased AT1 with the understanding that I would have AT2 soon after. Well it is now February 2006, and still no copy of AT2.
SJ_Didriz: You seem to be very sure that everybody is complaining and should get over the fact that AT2 is not here yet. Well why do you "waste" your time reading and replying ti this particular thread?

Post

grr....hit the wrong key...

Anyhow, I could care less when the program actually gets released. And in the grand scheme of things it doesn't even matter. I AM looking forward to giving it a run through when it is released.

I am FAR FAR FAR more critical of software that is dang near useless upon release and require 4 or 5 patches before it is useable, than I am of software that is late out the door. Now if this turns out to be both then people might have something to complain about. But, even then I really was serious when I said that this is just software for musicians. It just ain't that important.

Exactly! After I bought AT1, I bought:

1) Guitarport - returned it because shortly after I bought it, they announced a release date on the Toneport.
2) Actually, I exchanged it for a V-AMP 'cause I heard good things about them. It was ok, but I got way too much hum out of it...so I exchanged it for...
3) Toneport which I promptly bought extra model packs for to bring it up to a pod-xt.

I really like the Toneport...but to go dry is kinda convoluted. I run it into my MBOX2 and I can run it clean like a DI and use AT1 on it or I can use one of the tones.

I'm guessing I'm going to love using it with AT2 as it will up my amps/cabs going into AT2 ;-)

And Hink, you're right...there's been a boatlaod of interesting viewpoints regarding sims and tones in general, nothing to do with AT...

The thing I'm completely tired of is the incessant bashing...for the purpose of bashing.

On the dongle issue, hey...it's gonna have a dongle. If that bugs you, don't buy it. BUT as a lot of people have said, if you have to have the dongle to demo...that's more bad marketing from my perspective but they certainly wouldn't be the only ones who require a dongle to demo.

I think they might do what they do know...AT2 LE or even AT2 Free...who knows?
