Personally, I never liked using Sounder.

Becoming increasingly disillusioned to the point of obsession with the lack of curvy automation envelopes. It's frustrating having all this automative power when you can't even get a believably natural curve on a fade in/out. I use eXT for automation more often these days, solely for this functionality. A real shame considering that automation is something Mulch is legendarily good at.

Of course I've only used them just briefly so there are probably some deep differences if ppl say so... just wondering what those are (ex: Mulch being great for audio, triggering and warping it live?.
I've done at least one overview on the major differences in an old thread, but I haven't the mental power to list them all now.

The main difference is that Bidule is inefficient for sequencing events.

Audiomulch has its automation lanes, which can be set for most any parameter. There are of course other differences, but linear sequencing is the most central.
Kewl!! Thanks for sorting that out. Now I'll have a place to start looking when comparing the two. 8)

You know, I've never actively missed curvy envelope lines. In what situations are they essential for you?

It's only really became an issue since I started wanting to include more 'classically' electroacoustic sounds with really sharp attacks, sudden pitch swoops etc in my music. The lack of curves had always struck me as a little strange, but it wasn't really a problem when I was making more expansive drone type stuff.

What do you mean by curves- ease in/ease out stuff? 'Mulch does that. Noticed them when I was checking the example patches.

I think there are only curves on certain native parameters, and then you're locked to that exponential curve (can't go back to linear). That was implemented some time last year.

I think cron means like spline/vector breakpoint envelopes, like where there's the adjustable knuckle to bend the curve. I just tend to draw in several points, don't really miss any lost resolution.

There are things in Mulch I miss more, like timeline and counter displays in seconds, and automatable BPM changes. I know I can change with clock sync, but prefer to have it down in a written sequence, so I wouldn't have to set anything up but load the .amh file.

WTH??? Are you able to program that yourself or is that a standard MetaSurface setup? It looks just bloody wicked!!

Hm. That metasurface pic goes whoooosh above my head :hihi:

Question. Will Audiomulch ever come in a VST version? I'd love to stick AM in Tracktion, alongside eXT and rewired Reason it would be a great tool. It's a little too standalone now, imo.... Maybe it's just a beginner's mistake kind of idea, but is it all that silly?

The incredible versatility of eXT in my setups is that I can have eXT inside eXT inside Tracktion... :D
