Tracktion Software

Does anyone know how to set up a Yamaha EZ-AG with Tracktion 2?

I'm trying to use it to trigger various vsts (e.g. Manystation, Plugsound etc), but I've noticed that that I can only generate low velocity notes.

In other words, it's very quiet.

Is there some easy-to-use software that will sort this out?

I once owned one myself but gave it back because it felt just too "unguitaristic" for me. But have fun with it anyway.

Have you tried the utilities that are discussed in the thread? With them, you can among other things amplify the velocity output of the EZ.

That's exactly what I want to do.

I've tried to use one, but I'm doing something wrong.

With Tracktion 2, do you think I still need to use something like Midiyoke as part of the setup?

Yes, I think so. Tracktion sees and reads from the midi ports the system provides. With Midiyoke you can get between your physical midi interface and Tracktion. It's been some time since I setup my EZ and I remember I hated Midiyokes complexity, but I think what you have to do is setup a virtual MidiIn port in Midiyoke then start the EZ utility and configure it to read from the physical port and write to the virtual one. Then start Tracktion and it should read the filtered EZ signal from the virtual port.

That's about how it should work. In theory. And, as I said, I don't remember exactly anymore.
