Yes, Gsnap is a fantastic free alternative to Autotune VST.
Are my eyes deceiving me?! AutoTune for VST is out!

I own the Digitech Talker and it IS the Cher thing 100%... Does it really matter that much anyway?

The thing is - there was a TV doco made about Cher's career a few years back and they actually went into the "small south London studio" where that tune was made and the producer actually pulled up AutoTune and demonstrated how he did it on screen. Pretty hard to argue with that.LOGAN wrote:I own the Digitech Talker and it IS the Cher thing 100%... Does it really matter that much anyway?

Have you tried putting Autotune DX as a soft synth in FX bin? This way you should be able to send MIDI data from a MIDI track to it (at least with Audio/MIDI Gaters and Sonar 5 this works).idobs wrote:For almost 2 years, I've been waiting for AutoTune VST to come out. Why? Because the MIDI-input on the DX version just doesn't work if you don't have a dual-host audio-card. (i.e. no way in Sonar to send the pitch-corrections to AutoTune using MIDI, instead of using their graphical editor).
FINALLY!!!! WOOHOO!! It's here!!!

If he did say that the story changed because I read in a few places back then it was the Digitech... also back then the Talker was more popular... anyway... like I said I own one and its very very good... better than any VST I own for Vocoding CLEARLY.
God Cher really sucks anyway... who the hell cares... hahah.

This only works for AutoTune if your audio-card has dual-host support (i.e. two separate programs can open the MIDI input from the card). Auto-Tune opens the MIDI input SEPARATELY, that's what causes the problem. I've had emails with Antares support for the past 2 years, and they suggested waiting for the VST version which handles MIDI better in this scenario.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

By the way, I finally got around to installing AutoTune VST last night. I am SOOOOOOO happy!! Now I can finally easily pipe midi into AutoTune to make corrections, instead of using the graphical-mode.
