Yeah, I freely admit that I'm not much for a "total high gain" tone...so maybe I discard them right off the bat. But maybe the opposite it true as well, since you may not(or may, I have no idea) like a super dry jazz tone or an on the edge of distortion tele tone maybe all of the missing details don't register with you.

Either way, the only sounds I find even slightly usable in AT1 are the heavy distortion ones. I only demoed GR2 for a very short spurt but I had the same result, I drifted back to heavy distortion before I was happy with the sound. Any time I rolled down to cleaner settings I would be totally dissatisfied with the tone no matter how long I fiddled. THIS COULD BE MY INABILITY TO TONE FIDDLE.....but it is consistant among all of the sims I have tried so far. I have not tried Guitarport or XT Live, so I can't comment on them. I didn't like the last Line6 I tried though(can't remember the model). It sounded just like a crappy POD in a fancy box to me.

SJ_Digriz, did you hear the cleans in AT2 sound samples? To me they are pretty good. What is your opinion on them?

You mean the ones on the web site? If so..........shrug..same o. But it's almost impossible to tell anything from a sample. So, I'm not judging anything from those. There are a couple of the blues sounds that were not terrible, and usually those are beyond terrible.

Just a slight OT to help reaching the 200-p mark : is anyone using a boss epv-5 expression pedal for wah-wah ? Is it reliable ?

I think the patches on the website demonstrate the AMP modeling wonderfully. I'm sure there is much more potential in the actual plugin! I plan on using my Boss GT8 with Amplitube 2. I've gotten great results with the GT8 and the Guitar Rig 2 demo!

The GT8 demo with Mikey from American Choppers was pretty good indeed. I wasn't aware though that you could use it with your PC. It is using a USB connection? how solid are the drivers/latency?

I plan on using XTLive with AT2. I also had a good success with XTL and GR2.

Cool...Thanks for the link Meldioso! I have a question. How would I hook up the GT-8 to a computer? I see that it has midi out. Would I buy a midi cord that has a USB end and run it straight into the USB port on the computer?

not sure what you mean with this midi-usb cable, but AFAIK, you cannot send audio signals through midi. the unit must have a spdif i/o though. did you try to find the manual for it?
