i bought a mackie 400f off haydxn which comes with a copy of traktion 2. unfortunately i will never be able to get on with traktion (don't try and persuade me, it's a reflection on me not traktion) and would love to be able to give this to someone who would use it.... is this allowed ?

edit: the software is unregistered but unfortunately comes on the same disc as the drivers so i guess i would have to copy them (or traktion 2) or perhaps to give the license away ?

help and guidance would be appreciated

cheers,

steve. :D

i kind of thought as much..... shame though, seems a bit of a waste to have it just sitting there and as i say, it won't ever get used on my part although have just noticed the serial is the same for the registration of the hardware and tracktion 2 so i would presume that it's a no-no.

Oh, I wonder if it's bound to that hardware, in which case that negates the whole debate? Probably makes sense.

(If not, then who's to know what you do in private, anyway?)

There should be no reason why you can't give your copy of T to someone. It's license is not bound to your hardware but to your PC. You haven't even registered it yet.

Make the copy of the CD and give the copy to someone. They will register the license, and you won't be able to after that point (well you could if your machine was one of the two PCs).

i have sonar and its pretty much the same issue. I cant sell it to anyone if i wish to. its a one-time thing. you buy it, you stick to it till the end. Well, i love sonar, so i guess its a moot point. :)

Just because your hardware doesn't act as a dongle doesn't mean that its license isn't applied to the purchase of the hardware in question.

You will likely (I dunno, not being a hardware owner) find a copy of the license agreement somewhere. Possibly when you begin the installation process (which you can either abort or go through with since it only installs the "demo" until you enter your key anyhow).

Read the license agreement and therein will lie your answer.
