rsmus7: just leave bittorrent running for a while. you become a seeder simply by continuing to upload (for a period of your own choosing) when you have the file.

Also makes you a very nice person.

If you are using azareus, you will seed automatically upon download completion...
It says I have 3 hours to go...1 seed...
When mine stops, I'll keep my seed open for a day at least...

Exactly....hmmm...which probably answers my question from the last post...

Perhaps the "(5)" indicates the people downloading from that seed who will become full seedlings themselves one day.

Seed: a peer who has 100% of the torrent and is only uploading to other peers. Seed is also used as a verb, as in "I'm going to be seeding this file overnight", meaning leave open and available for other users to download. Usually, a person with the whole file is a 'seed', while someone with a partial amount is a peer.

hmmm...

right now in Azureus it says "2(5)" for seeds and "2(4)" for peers...

I think the "2(5)" seeds means there are 5 seeds identified but only 2 actually seeding at the moment. Ditto for peers. Although I see 0 seeds and 3 clients/peers...

Paulie, you might be using a port that is blocked by your router or a firewall... check it under Tools > Options > Connection and make sure your router has that port open, both TCP and UCP.
