And I think this one should be in for 1.0 ;)

Mixdown to Part. Once I've got a few audio tracks looping and I'm enjoying the result, I want to be able to capture a four or eight bar phrase of that sound, then work with that (clearing everything else out). Maybe this could only work for Audio tracks (to avoid people working around the restrictions in the FREE version)?

Post

Yeah sensible idea!

loosely related..
Whatever became of looping parts forever, the way you could draw out a part forever in Muzys (yes it's that M word again)?

I'm not looking forward to a gazillion midi events choking my RAM just beacause i have a part repeating for 100 bars or so...

Just a simple Bounce to audio feature would be nice. A one click process ala Tracktion's track render functionality.
Simple and saves CPU.

Nice tip! As soon as 1.0 is rock solid, new features like this will be added!

For now:

You can mixdown a section to file, then insert that file in the Composition, and mute the original parts that made that audio file.

But you know that of course :dog:

Oh, by the way, are you still encountering problems with "Mixdown To Audiofile"?

Post

Is Beta 2 out? I think I reported the mixdown problem with Beta 1 (and it's still there in Beta 1 in case it was one of the alphas).

Post

No, beta 2 is still baking.

The strange thing is that i can't reproduce the mixdown problem here.

Do you always have a noisy/silent audiofile as a result?

Post

Oh... hang on.

It seems not to write the file properly until you exit MUTON. Further investigations...

Yes, if I exit MUTON before trying to use the file, it's okay. If I try to use the file in the same (work) session it was created in, then I just get silence/noise.

Post

That sounds like a file that is not properly closed. Though the mixed audiofile IS closed after mixdown.

And it sounds ok here, e.g. when opened in an audio editor immediately after mixdown.

Strange thing :?

I'm sure you're not trying to open it while the mouse still shows a wait/busy cursor, right?

Post

Mmmm... strange. Let me try that again. On a third try, it worked fine. (Part of the issue is that MUTON grabs all available outputs on my ASIO driver so any other audio appliction either fails with some strange error message or produces no sound - if I open the other apps first, it's okay..!)

One thing that I do notice is the Mixdown to Audiofile appears to have added about 578 samples' worth of silence to the front...

A couple more features requested:
1. Some method to alter tempo across a composition. Tempo Track?
2.Allow drawing a curve for value 2 editor.

By the way mixdown locks up 98se but the mixdown is done first and does play properly.

Post

I hope Mod tracker style Virtual keybord.
and loop sequence...

A tempo track will come in a later version.
2.Allow drawing a curve for value 2 editor.
Do you mean for the velocity beams?

The specs are updated: 98se is pitily not there anymore.

Beta 7 processes the events sent from a vst.

So then you can indeed use e.g. TB's QuickKeys as a virtual keyboard.
