Yup, heard about it... still, sos forum is a good one.

Okay, there's a couple more links to add to the network, and we're on a new page, so here's an update. soulata added a link at SOS (thanks!). I just added one over at the Kontakt forum as well. That means we now have "pre-GB spread the word" links at the following places:

Project 5 Forum
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=714641

Cakewalk Forum
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=7153 ... y=&#715396

An occasional bump over the next several weeks, as more info is released, would probably be helpful.

Cheers,
Mark

P.S. I think this is the first group buy I've been in where there's been an active campaign before the group buy is even announced!!!!

A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

will vol 2 be available after the group buy (pretty please)
Yes. But, probably not with all the extras. Or at the price... but that depends on how many join of course.

Post

Oh, wow, hopefully we don't overhype this thing :) We should just bump those thread every once in a while. People might get tired seeing about this if it's advertized too often. I'm really excited about this and I hope I would have money to get also vol1 but I don't :/ Oh well, we have to see later on.

This one will be a little different. We get a chance to prepare people a little bit and we get a chance to see what we can put together. Then once a lot of people at least know about it and we have a better idea of what/when/where and the extras then we can start this thing for real.

The Studio ProFiles GB is gonna be a tough act to follow. Drum loops have a little more universal appeal than classic trons sounds, but then again, with all these supported formats, and all the interest there is, I don't think we're gonna have any trouble hitting 100!!

Post

I think what appeals about the tron sounds is that it isn't yet another va, yet another orchestra library, yet another <fill in the blank>

Also maybe not something one might use all the time and maybe not as much as the things I mentioned above.

But with the Tron collection volume 1 for example... it isn't something that you come across every day and I am very happy that I got it when Squids offered it up the first time around.

Well said. :tu:

Yep, couldn't agree more Sequent. Seems like Squids has a way of putting that little something special to each product he works on, doesn't it?? Even when he does give us just another synth,,, there's something extra cool about it. Like Sonik Synth 2, the way it takes you back to those rare instruments,,, BTW,,, I kind of think of these tron sounds as a bit of an extension of Sonik Synth 2 for my sound collection.

SS2 reminds me of when I was a kid going to the music stores in Milwaukee and Chicago, and trying out all the cool stuff they had. These tron sounds are like taking you into the special room in back that they don't let kids in unless they are in a nice mood. Or maybe you try your hardest to impress the guy up in front of the store, and beg him to let you try some of those back there. Then I would go home and play on the famlies Thomas Organ, or down to the basment to play on our old upright piano and dream. LOL

Even when Squids puts out "another" orchestral set,,, it's not just an orchestral set,,, it's the one I always wanted, but new and improved.

That's why I'm a loyal eSoundz customer.

Good imagery. Going OT a bit, that takes me back to when I first played a Minimoog. It was in the back room at a local music store, the only synth they had in stock. It was the same day I first played a B-3 (the first organ I ever played), which was sitting right next to the Moog. I felt like a total nimrod when I couldn't even figure out how to turn the B-3 on!  :D

It was my 30 minutes or so playing the Moog and the B-3 that changed me from a simply a piano player to someone who wanted to play keyboards. I only got to play a real mellotron once (a couple years later), but the feel and sounds stick with you.

Cheers,
Mark

Got another thing to add to the Sonic Rarities bonus disc. A Wurlitzer 140B. It is a TUBE wurly. Pretty rare and cool sounding. A nice addition to the rest of the funky stuff on there.

Plus, for prizes I found 3 leftover tape heads with the authentication card that was done for the first Squids Tron group buy. So, we'll have those to give away for starters. Rob is working on a T-Shirt with a Squid playing some cool vintage keyboards... it just doesn't get any more RARE than that!!!!!!

Post

LOL,,,Squids playing a vintage keyboard doesn't sound rare, but a T shirt with an image of that,,, now that's RARE!! T Shirts are coooooool,,,, and spring is coming!! Hopefully by the time we get this, I can wear it without putting a sweater on over the top!! I don't get it,,, according to all ground hog day predictions, the Robins should be in Wisconsin by now!!

I suppose it would be cruel of me to mention that it's 82 degrees in Austin right now? :hihi:

Of course we had highs in the mid-30's just a week ago . . . .
