Thanks guys, the skin is available on Asseca's website. http://asseca.com/wiki/Skins/HomePage - "Just the FAQ's Ma'am"

glurgle: great idea. :) I've brightened up the window groups and the buttons which made the text a bit clearer.

Hope so! I've decided to upload the original Photoshop *.PSD files so that people can make modifications with the benefit of layers. I use a fair whack of layer effects, so you may need Photoshop 7 or later.

That's tight man. Nice job. You being a skinner, is it pretty much ALL of eXT that is skinnable? Or are there restrictions? Also can it handle PNGs with alpha channel and such?

TIA for reply

Hiya. Pretty much everything. Backgrounds, buttons, controls, faders, scrollbars, window decorations, titlebars and menus.

Items like the Dock bar and the LED data display in the sequencer and mixer are not skinnable.

Also (alas), some elements share the same colour. The grid, notes, clips, the track headers and the piano roll have dependencies between them, so sometimes you change something in once place only to have something else change in another. Also, you need to watch out for things like this. :D

But all in all, it's fantastic and gives the user much more freedom to change the look than many hosts.

There's no alpha channel support at the moment, however, you can use Gif-style transparency within eXT by selecting a color per-bitmap that you want to be transparent. Works well for hard-edged graphics.

Fandango, that's a really nice skin.

At first sight it looks a little dull, but going through it all and looking a little closer reveals some real subtlety

I recon this is one of the most pro looking skins I've seen, it's certainly going to be one of the easiest on the old eyes after a few hours tweaking, and that's a big plus in my book.

Good stuff!

Don't we have some lovely skins to choose from now :tu:

Thanks for replying and heads up. In the thread you linked to, I see a demo of all controls and so forth. Is this a feature of eXT or is it your own canvas or what? It is very helpful to have a test-lab for skinning so if this is intrinsic to eXT it's going to make it much easier :)

Not as dark as the bags under my eyes at the moment. Yep, they are too dark. Probably because I used a black outline as well which adds to the 3d shadowing a bit too much. Should be pretty easy to tone it down a bit as it just uses the Photoshop "Bevel and Contour" blending effect which can adjusted freely on the layer's blend settings.

grymmjack: That's the eXT theme editor. It's all handled within eXT. On the main area, right-click and select Options. Inside the options dialogue there's a theme editor where you can load/save bitmaps and change the colors for the current theme.

How did you get Photoshop to work on the black rings on your eyes ?
The Dr wants me to sleep more
