It is seriously screwed. Here is a prime example: say you want to hear the (wet) contribution of a reverb on an FX bus. In Logic, you hit the solo button on that FX bus and if you have the reverb set to 100% wet you will only hear the wet sound. You can compare reverbs and fine tune patches to suit your needs.

In Cubase SX 3 what you hear in the same situation is the full dry mix of everything that is sending to that FX bus + the reverb. What f@$%ing use is that?. I can hear that without soloing anything!
You solo the track not their sends, acts just like an hardware mixer, so in case you want to render it will show the result of the track without the sends printed on so you can go on, if you want the sends printed just select the proper audio bus on the audio mixdown menu.

oh fX have a disable button so if you want to listen to a single slot contribution it's possible.

don't compare logic cripled funcionalities with SX unless it's for a laugh.

If you want something really usefull in cubase is batch export, now this is an improvement i think even logic could take advantge of too.

go take a stroll on the i love logic thread or other colourfull thread around fanboy... once again the e button of some is the non sense of others... do yourself a favour and stick to logic. :hihi:

people calling other people fanboy are just fanboys defending their own fanboy target :hihi:

I want to hear wet reverb only when I solo the Reverb FX channel. (Got it?)

Cubase is not set up to do this.

And f**k off with the infantile fanboy bullshit - what are you 14 y.o.?

Just disable the other fx...

*Which* crippled functionality please?
Ah, I see, you mean audio-to-MIDI. Yeah, that's defenitely crippled and completely useless.
Oh no, wait, it was proper dual monitor support. Nah, can't be it, nobody needs such a thing.
Or do you think a working solo function qualifies as crippled?
Hm, I wonder what you mean and if you even halfway got a clue...

And don't mention the lack of some functions, because that defenitely doesn't qualify of being crippled. And we are all informed about them as well, probably better than you, my dear.

All these things are about "ergonomics" and "workflow", and it's also about how these can be improved to suit the vast majority of users. Not a single of the current functionalities would even be changed at all.
We're talking about optional workflow enhancements here - but that doesn't seem to be of any interest to you. So, instead of telling people that actually *know* what and why they're talking about to leave, why don't you just leave yourself and be happy with all the jelly beanish buttons to be found in SX?

It seems you need to defend Cubase permanently, whereas it's just obvious that the mentioned flaws are there and that everybody would benefit from the Steinb0rgs finally adressing them.

@eggberta
Dumb ass fanboy, just to remember you the initial querry was SX can't notate or recognizes chords on the score, both false.
You see, this thread isn't about your lame ass sequencer, is about SX... got it now???
Hey when will you have a Drum map to wigle on our face, or MIDI fx as cool as chorder, arpegiator, step designer... offline processing when, proper PDC, mmm????
well untill you shape up butt out, do yourself a favour keep fidling with your toys, they're not even in the same league as SX.

No, not at all.
It's the most obvious thing one may wish for, highly useful and all.

As said in my previous post, instead of actually analyzing the problems mentioned in this thread, realizing that they indeed are exisiting, realizing that NONE of them has the slightest thing to do with me being a Logic user, some people permanently insist on defending Cubase, accusing me (and others) as Logic fanboys.
How twisted can you be today?

I have a drum map in Logic.. only people who don't know logic don't know about that

Logic has the most powerful arpegiator I've ever seen in a host

proper pdc.. hmm, reading your posts I wonder if you even know what it is :hihi:

stag, you better freaking shut up now, idiot!
You can't even READ AT ALL, because that was NOT what the initial question was about!
You see, this thread isn't about your lame ass sequencer, is about SX... got it now???
Yes, EXACTLY!!!
And that's why I *have* been mentioning SX shortcomings.
Oh f**k, you won't be able to read that again, so here it is again just for you:

I HAVE BEEN MENTIONING SX SHORTCOMINGS! WHEREELSE DO THEY BELONG TO BUT IN A THREAD ABOUT SX SHORTCOMINGS?

Any better for your little impaired mind?

spaceman, sorry, regarding the Logic arpeggiator I beg to differ... unless it was *massively* overhauled in v7.
And, admittedly, Logic would do well with MIDI FX... one of the things I really like in SX.

This thread was started to ask for a SX problem, then is monopolised for some logic trolls.
I have no problem with that, i have tried logic and it don't cut it for me, however i don't jump on logic thread the ones like: oh logic is crap et all and start flaming ass just because the superior audio engine crashes like mad or PDC when??? you know better than me the drill, kind of pathetic for a sequencer that exists for so long, they don.'t code that well and buy technology forget about it, let ST do that.

Take it easy tiger...

As for the soloing of an fx channel, I think it works like this... (though I am not 100% sure, as I am not infront of Cubase right now).

In the mixer window, if you solo an FX channel, it'll also group-solo all the channels being routed to it (I think you can see how that would make sense right?) If you only want to hear the FX minus the routed instruments, simply un-solo those instrument channels on the mixer (while leaving the FX channel solo'd).

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty certain that is how it is done. Although, it isn't something I'd normally do, as I've never really found it useful to edit the wet signal without the presence of the dry signal as well...
