Im using GPO and I need to put in another GPO dll file in the same folder, so i can have two instances running, one with sustain pedal, and the other with sustain performing as midi switch fo legato. However, the folder is write protected and i can't paste another GPO dll file in there. I need to do this as this was the response I got from Garritan forum. Please tell me how to overcome the write protect issue!

Just received word from Muse,
If your planning on using GPO for both piano and strings, think again. You can only run one instance, so if you set the sustain pedal to midi switch legato function for strings, then change to piano, you'll have no sustain there, and vice versa. Someone on GPO forum told me you could just put two GPO dll files on your platform and then rename one of them to say GarritanPersonalOrchestra2 - which apprently enables you to have two instances with different settings. Using one instance for all your legato stuff, and the other for piano.
Damn shame, sa GPO has a great piano, but for live use you can't really do it. Unless you want to take your monitor set up and adjust on the fly.
Guess I'm going to have to buy another piano plug now

Does your controller have more than one foot pedal ports? If so couldnt you use another momentary foot switch and set the cc message to control just legato? So one pedal does sustain and the other legato. I havent tried it, but it should work.

This won't work with GPO's Kontakt Player engine. MIDI CC#64 works either as sustain pedal or legato, no way to reassign unless you have Kontakt full version to load the GPO instruments. I've used the copied-DLL method on a PC and it worked, don't see why it wouldn't work on the Receptor if the disk permissions could allow duplicating and renaming the plugin.farhan wrote:Does your controller have more than one foot pedal ports? Renaming dlls wont work on the receptor architecture specifically for GPO unless we provide a new installer which provides the renamed dll and other files which is required in order for it to work on a receptor.
This may have worked if Garritan was originially installed from the Unsupported folder and the paths in the registry were already set to point to that folder which is not the way we support Garritan.

The crossgrade path to Kontakt 2 from any NI-sampler based product such as GPO is pretty fair, IMO. $249 at audiomidi.com, for example.
This gives you the entire 15 GB Kontakt 2 library (half of it is VSL orchestral content) as well the as ability to load content from GPO or other NI-based libraries and tweak them however you like.

Hmm, very interesting, sounds good! Just need to sell another kidney to fund some more cash for plug ins. With my calculations, that will leave me with approximately none.Briggity wrote:The crossgrade path to Kontakt 2 from any NI-sampler based product such as GPO is pretty fair, IMO. $249 at audiomidi.com, for example.

It can be addictive buying plug ins!
