Hmmm. So you want to add more harmonics to that additive editor... why not...

Some requests + rehashs ...
I would really love, deeply love a fader between the keyboard tracking and VEL / AFT windows that enable to browse the parameters in " all " windows, example : on pitch env. level, you've got the pitch envelope of the operator, the pitch env. level of keyboard tracking and VEL / AFT and so on ...
Since the VEL / AFT has the most parameters, the ones not in common with the other windows would be last ...
I would like also a slider under the VEL / AFT window for instance to browse for a given parameter all the operators.
Also some associated LEDs next to the fader and slider indicating that a " profile " is not neutral and thus you can rapidly know what's on or off : that would be a tremendous time saver !!
Would it possible when the VEL / AFT, keyboard tracking " envelopes " are " neutral " to grab the node and use it as a big fader especially for ws amount since there's no slider for it.
Concerning the envelopes : you could put all the names side by side, osc level, ws amount ... etc and when you click on one this reflect on the keyboard tracking and VEL / AFT windows on one of the related parameters.
The pitch envelopes acts only positively !
Please double click for fit and right click to add a point like the other " envelopes "
When you browse between envelopes windows, same time span for all : if you modified one to display 0 - 5 sec all will display this same interval ...
A timeline ...
Glide time : 0 - 100 okay but I would prefer seconds
The LFO ?? on - off okay but ...
I would like for each operator a LFO for level and pitch with envelopes amount + rate !!!
It's you that started that modulation madness after all !!
Okay enough, gotta eat !!

Huh ?The pitch envelopes acts only positively !
Ah, it's gonna be hard; there's already single click / drag for zooming and panning. It'd be great though...Please double click for fit and right click to add a point like the other " envelopes "
Well, I think the LFO is a bit too slow at the moment. I'd need to change it, but it's going to be a pain with existing presets. Gotta find a clever way...The LFO ?? on - off okay but ...

Correct !!
I was misled by the the fact it's a 0 - 100 range !! maybe a - 50 --> + 50 range would have rung a bell !!
BTW I would like, no I WANT the horizontal grid on the level envelopes too !!
And could it be possible to turn rapidly an operator off by for instance clicking on OSC1, 2 ... of the matrix, though the values in the matrix would remain, just to test the effect of with or without a given operator ...
One last for the road ... the assignments of the six sliders : could it be done by menus instead of learn + type names ??
I still have some bugs with 1.01 ... sudden mutes when switching presets and also above a certain loudness ... noises then silence ( SX 1.05 )
It's seems to appear when there are lots of modulations ...
But I love it anyways !!!

What would that be used for ?BTW I would like, no I WANT the horizontal grid on the level envelopes too !!
Nice one. Consider it done. And could it be possible to turn rapidly an operator off by for instance clicking on OSC1, 2 ... of the matrix, though the values in the matrix would remain, just to test the effect of with or without a given operator ...
You really like *big* menus, do you ?One last for the road ... the assignments of the six sliders : could it be done by menus instead of learn + type names ??
Yes. The culprit is a bad initialization in the RichChorus effect. It'll be fixed in 1.02.I still have some bugs with 1.01 ... sudden mutes when switching presets and also above a certain loudness ... noises then silence ( SX 1.05 )

The grid would be helpful ( for me !!
) especially for the pitch envelope to know where 0 lies ...
You were right about the sliders assignments : too big menus for sure !
But their ranges ? not easy to customize ! I would like : you put the chosen parameter on " lower X " then " user learn " on, highlight a slider, move the parameter to " higher X " then turn user learn off and 0 - 100 of the slider will travel low X - high X of the chosen parameter ...
Also the fonts of the unselected OSC, FILT,SEQ ... are a little too dark but maybe it's me ...
I will annoy someone else !!

Ok. My turn. My wish is more patch locations. Maybe a way to page banks like you page to different osc's. This synth is too good to only load 64 patches at a time.
If someone already requested more patch locations, I'm sorry I missed it. I'll suggest something else just in case. My other suggestion is multiple banks so we can have more patch locations.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Rabid,
More than 128 locations would make harder to use program changes. I went for 64 only for 2 reasons:
- Given the complexity of the presets, storing a single patch requires around 14 Kb. Having a lot of on-board presets means using a lot of memory, which isn't too friendly with the other plugins you may want to use.
- 64 could be displayed on the front page without having one more level of tabs. A lot of people hate these tabs, you know
This said, I'm working on some presets, and I definitely intend to release at least another bank.
Take care,
'Tick

Hey Tick, what a piece of work Rhino is!!! I mean how can Rhino get any better? Well, since you asked I had to think about it real hard and here's a few things that I had in mind:
1. One more effect type column.
2. The ability to slide in the Sequencer
3. This one's weird: The ability to select which OSC(s) is/are routed to the Step Sequencer.
4. A preset morph: The ability to define a time over which one preset will evolve into another. Tick, I ask this of every synth developer!
This helps accomomplish 3 things: 1. allows you to have less instances of Rhino especially for special effects, instead of one for every effect. 2. I forget what this is. 3. It is in itself a really cool effect listening to a plugin morph. Although i think with this synth, this will be nearly impossible to achieve (too many variables)
5. Panning Envelopes - I'm thinking that i just haven't found them, so please ignore this if they are there.
6. More Presets - I know everyone mentioned this, but this thing just begs for another bank (0r two)!
7. The ability to use formulas to compute the Shape (trig functions, etc...)
I think that's it for now. Let me tell you, there's not a lot that this thing does not have and nothing that it doesn't do well!
Keep it up Tick!!

It's me agaaain !!
I want to be sure, I really undertand the AM thing : The AMs under the OSCs are amount of OSCx sent into AM1 or 2 or both ? then the ouput is either FILT1,2, RAW under AM1 and 2 ?
I answer that because I don't understand some presets : take wave sequence for instance !
Envelope for AM ?
And for more suggestions : more tabs for those who don't like them !!!
There's room next to the Rhino logo !!
I would like a super matrix for patented control freaks !!
A vertical rectangle with OSC1 -- >6 and all keyboard tracking and VEL / AFT parameters ( more than 20 for one OSC ) well actually LEDs indicating the curve is not neutral ... you click on it for direct access to the parameter !!
That's a big rectangle, next to it two more : the Matrix and above the same with for each OSC freq coarse, fine, pitch mod ... etc
One window : billions of clicks killed !!!
I was thinking also of a composite window tab where you could pick one parameter of each OSC tab : OSC1 pitch env, OSC3 keyboard tracking ...
I would like also reset buttons and waveshaper curve in a 45° line as default ...
Enough for a sunday !!!!!
Rhino is dope !!!!!!!!

A little more ...
Once a key is struck the settings such as pitch mod, freq coarse .... seem to be frozen : the modifications take place if another key is struck ... no good for a maniac tweaker !!!!!!!
Okay, I will shut ma boite à camenbert for today !!!

Ouch. And people are already complaining about cpu usage1. One more effect type column.
ok. Actually it should probably be linked to the "glide" control.2. The ability to slide in the Sequencer
Woa. Sorry, can't do that3. This one's weird: The ability to select which OSC(s) is/are routed to the Step Sequencer.
(Looking around for a rope to hang myself - there should be a smiley for that)4. A preset morph: The ability to define a time over which one preset will evolve into another.
Yeah I'd love to have a pan envelope per oscillator. But this would double the cpu usage, because the left and right channels would have to be computed separately.5. Panning Envelopes - I'm thinking that i just haven't found them, so please ignore this if they are there.
There is a pan control of the filter output, though. It's hidden in the keyboard and velocity window curves on the filter pages.
Yeah. I'm working on some.6. More Presets - I know everyone mentioned this, but this thing just begs for another bank (0r two)!
Well I suspect the real requirement here is to be able to import your own shapes (or waves). I don't want to turn rhino into a sampler (because it would not be very good at it) but I reckon it would be cool to be able to import waves...7. The ability to use formulas to compute the Shape (trig functions, etc...)

Hey Tick .. .
oh yea and one more thing:
1. Can you build an entire host around Rhino.
2. A button to generate an instant smash-hit that will top the charts (It should have genre dropdown).
J/K
Rhino is a monster of a synth. Those above, are just there if you're bored - although I doubt you are. Based on the features in Rhino, I think this is one of the most complete synths available. Also I agree with you, I think if you add more bells / whistles to Rhino, it'll be so CPU intensive, that it will be next to impossible to use it as part of a complete mix.
Thank you once again!
