am I imagining it, or did a previous Oatmeal version have sustain pedal capability?
was I just *wishing*?...

I've been wondering the same thing, blortblort! I could have sworn my sustain peddle was...er, sustaining when I first tried this the day it was released. But since then I've re-downloaded, reinstalled, used two different keyboards and lost most of my hair. Whazzup?

Thanks funkadil. I'll do that if it comes to that--though I think it was the first version that stopped working (if it ever was
). It could be that blortblort and I are stoopid.

Just another request to add a quantize button for the knobs in the step sequencer - it's a real pain trying to select whole numbers.
Also, how about a "hold" option for notes in the arpeggiator - which would simply hold the last note (unlike continue which repeats it).
Having said that, I'd like to see development of Oatmeal frozen at some point soon - you can then start thinking about adding other feature requests to Oatmeal II

I was just thinking it would be nice to release the FX part of Oatmeal as a VST (Distortion, chorus, delay, reverb)
What do you think?

I'm sorry if this has been reported already, but when using the random button the first time it doesn't create a random name, but keeps the patchname which is selected at that time, on the second push it starts creating random patch names as well... This is with the latest 35-5 version.
Anyway, thanks, I get some nice sounds out of this thing

Since the patch and name are created at the same time, that sounds rather odd... what host are you using? I can't reproduce this in any of the ones I have lying around, although it seems quite a few fail to update their own program name displays (which, as far as I can tell, isn't my fault).DotNoir wrote:I'm sorry if this has been reported already, but when using the random button the first time it doesn't create a random name, but keeps the patchname which is selected at that time, on the second push it starts creating random patch names as well... I'm using energyXT. Maybe some redraw issue, don't know. the same thing happened also when I changed the focus away and back from energyXT. Unfortunately I don't have any other host.

Ah yes, energyXT is one of the hosts I meant in my last posts - it just doesn't update the display completely most of the time, for some reason. I really don't know if there's anything I can do about that, since basically the only thing a VST can do in that direction is call updateDisplay, which I'm already doing. It does seem like a redraw issue, yes.

Maybe I should post on the energyXT forum as well, if Jorgen can do something with this
Thanks for the answers tho and sorry for the bother

Works as expected here. It might not be a bug, more a feature of EXT!DotNoir wrote:I'm using energyXT. Maybe some redraw issue, don't know. the same thing happened also when I changed the focus away and back from energyXT. Unfortunately I don't have any other host.
Is the Audio out pin connected to the main outputs either directly or indirectly via another plugin? If you don't connect any VST to the main output, EnergyXT disables that modules audio side which stops the random function from working. Try this: load Oatmeal twice into an empty EXT, connect one to the output but leave the other unconnected. Now try the random button on both, you should find the one connected to the output updates but the other doesn't.
Does that help?

I've only had Oatmeal loaded in energyXT, so it has been connected directly.
...Damn, another thought enters my mind and... yes, I've been using old beta of eXT, yay for user errors
edit. No, unfortunately updating energyXT didn't help me. Can it be something in the system? Graphics card/drivers? Since now it happens so that if I don't dock Oatmeal in energyXT it doesn't update the name at all on display. If I close the GUI and reopen, then there is a new patchname.
