sorry to interrupt...

Midiworks, do you still plan to release your amp? Are you planning to make an announcement soon?

Releasing false release dates is the worst thing you can do for your business (and your customers), as you loose all sense of credibility, but releasing no info at all is only a little better...

So? AT2 is around the corner (ha, that was a good one), how far is your amp?

Post

Apparently he's waiting until AT2 comes out. Which isn't a clever idea in my book.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Agree. He should at least release some info such as amps modeled, FX included, pics of the new GUI, a proper web page with mp3 demos, a release date... (HINT HINT HINT) Anything to hype the thing a little bit!

IF people are pleased with the demo of AT2, they'll likely NOT wait for Rene's amp. Which is a shame, since the few demos he posted sounded promising...

I'm glad I put my glasses on....when I first read your post I thought it said which is a clever idea...phewww...:hihi:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

You are right but....
Who wants to bet it will be a very long time before we see a final release..... so I think the AT2 story is just an excuse.

Post

MW said the amp was already finished in early february (2006)... so maybe the delay is due to web page construction, serious marketing strategy, etc...? Am I too optimist?

I'm still around and reading, maybe not all at the time but most of your questions, I do read.
Even though I can understand that some of you are getting inpatient,
waiting for the release of our amp.

All I can say is, that I'm very sorry that you still need to wait.

Our new engine and the new concept, is taking way more time than we thought it would take.
As I wrote before, the amplifier itself, is fully functional,
since a long time.

About six months ago, I had an idea, for the old engine and I asked quite a few people for help.
But most of them, where not able to do what I needed, or they simply didn't have the time.
Through the many discussions we had here here at KVR,
I was always thinking deeply about any of you suggestions.

And some of those suggestions again, brought up some new ideas,
that I tried out, some with success some others without.
Finally my new idea is working rather well but there is still one problem to overcome.
Again, I will not go into details, but this new function, as simple as it is,
will open up many new ways for the final amp in the end.

I can really understand that some of you are getting frustrated or are already frustrated,
because of the, I admit, extremely long wait.

Let me also tell you, that I'm very happy, that I did not release the amplifier as planned in December.
If I would have done so, sure you would have had a nice amplifier with cool effects etc.,
an amplifire that feels and sounds more real, than any other amp on the market today.
But then again, you heard the new MP3 demos, that I posted a few months back.
Those MP3's, had nothing, but nothing in common with the old amp engine,
that I used for our Xmastube.
The new engine is giving so great results, that I had to throw the old concept
of the amp overboard and find a new concept.
All this and more, is taking much more time than I thought it would.
The web page is nearly finished, the final pages will be done when the amplifier is ready for release,
the selection of the final words, pictures, demos etc.

All I ever wanted, was to create a great guitar amplifier that not only sounds like the real thing,
but also feels and reacts as close as possible to a read amp.
You are not waiting for nothing, your are simply waiting for the most realistic virtual guitar amplifier to come.

Thanks for your patience and stay tuned on this channel.

what's new about it? :?

A new excuse every two weeks or so... (not that I really care)

I still think you should've released in December, and then if it sold well you'd have some capital, and if it DIDN'T sell well, you still wouldn't be out of pocket.

And then 2.0 could be the new one you're working on. ;) Made some more money from either new customers (who didn't buy into 1.x) or upgrades (if it's an impressive enough upgrade for 1.x customers to upgrade). Then, you also wouldn't have had to deal with people harshing your mellow. :D

A couple of pages back, MW (and his new buddy with zero posts) told us that the plug was being beta tested.

I'm a little confused as to why there would be beta testing if the plug was still unfinished?

Because you beta-test in order to finish it, maybe?
