I didn't know this until today....but, there is only one Sunday a month is Aus. It has something to do with Kangaroo's inabailty to jump on that day....I guess it is a cultural thing. Kind of like a leap year.
At least this explains the delay.

One thing I like(d) about OSXAudio is that in 99.9% of the threads people did not hurl personal insults at each other. Most of the threads were about helping each other, sharing information and communicating a shared love of music and making music.

That's why I voiced my distain for Ned here. Well, and the fact that there is no OSXA.velocipede wrote:One thing I like(d) about OSXAudio is that in 99.9% of the threads people did not hurl personal insults at each other. Hey everybody!
Drop your spears and direct your browsers here:
http://2006.sxsw.com/toolbox/schedules/ipod/
where you can torrent download something like 2000 free, legal tracks from artists who performed at SXSW.
Thanks to Chris Breen at Macworld for this headzup.
Bring the music love back!

I'm just curious what you mean by "toys"? FLstudio or the people who use it?Meester Smeeeth wrote:I just stumbled on this thread. If BBL ever returns and goes X-Platform, will I have to wade through as many "Teh Fruity Loops kiks ass" threads to find anything useful as you seem to have to on this site? I don't mind toys, just don't want them cluttering the lounge...
Either way....

loophead, I understand your (and others)sentiments about the future of BBL/OSXA. I also see no reason for the site to go multiplatform. It was just fine the way it was.
Somehow I get the feeling that "advertising dollars" are a factor in all this.
I happen to use both mac and pc. FL studio on my laptop PC and Logic Pro on my mac. Both are wonderful tools.
I guess Ive just really never understood the kind of elitist attitude that crops up on mac related forums so often.....meester being a prime example

thanks. I like being a prime example. Your "elitist" comments are a prime example of why I liked OSXA as it was!soulkraka wrote:I guess Ive just really never understood the kind of elitist attitude that crops up on mac related forums so often.....meester being a prime example
Anyway, in my original post, the reference to toys was a tongue in cheek remark to illustrate a point. The lounge being cluttered by toys was just convenient and reasonably apt imagery!
OSXA was focussed on our interest in making music on the mac, using OSX. OSX Audio did what it said on the tin. KVR is a very good site for what it does, and its news page and official developer forums are obviously great resources not provided by the old OSXA.
However, when I visited the "posts since your last visit' page on OSXA, I could usually find a thread or post I wanted to read or even participate in. When I do the same with KVR, most of the posts are PC related and therefore of much less interest. There are also a large percentage of "tracker kids" posting in the forums, with endless posts about how great FL, Orion, etc are and how anybody using anything else is obviously deranged. Similarly, you get threads with some posters trying to convince themselves and the world that they should be taken as seriously as developers as the likes of Urs, when all they do is cobble together a patch in synthedit.
I would prefer not to have to wade through such posts on BBL (if it ever returns!). Does that make me elitist? If it does, fine. Elitism isn't a dirty word.

Me too.kenn michael wrote:i mean, damn!!! i'm having serious withdrawal over here!!!!
I agree with Meester Smeeth. The Internets are overloaded with information. I liked my OSXAudio Internet because it acted as a filter by being OS X-centric. Plus it was blue, so all the blue-hating, mac-hating masses stayed away. At least it will still be blue.
Anyway, with the Mactels now booting Windows, maybe the line is going to be erased and I'll just have to get used to it.
So, can I get FL to run on a new iMac?
