Saw a place online today that said it was expected to arrive "04/10". Hopefully they were just worse case'ing it and not actually being told that by IK. Then again I guess an extra two weeks would be better than an extra two months. Or I should say another extra two weeks...

Are you still trusting IKMM for any release dates they announce? Do you expect them to be able to respect another deadline? Why? Just look again here: http://www.amplitube.com/NewsDisplay.php?Id=477 -> that was announced publicly at NAMM. And I'm not gonna list all the previous other release dates...
My point is, to me, IKMM lost any credibility. Not that they can't make good products (CSR and other things they do are cool), but as a serious company. So I don't expect AT2 to be available as announced. "It will be here when it will be here". If you don't want to be disappointed again, forget your calendar and dates... and enjoy the product when it will be in your hands.

Have they already taken payment from those who pre-ordered? If they have, that would be really cheeky. Funding their business with money from customers who are kept waiting indefinitely.putte wrote:.. all sarcasm beside: i really can imagine more delays even after musikmesse. though, i for one preordered and will be (hopefully) happy when its finally here ..

Oh how I love this thread. I've got AT1 already and Gtr Rig 2 in the post.

THINK ABOUT IT folks:
AT1 = $299
AT2 (crossgrade) = $249.00
NI GR2 = $559.00 (including hardware)
TOTAL = $1107
Fender 65 Twin Reverb Amp = $1,099.99!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes you don't get 20,000 amp combinations, but this amp will blow any of that software crap out of the water... (mind my language)
Food for thought.

I'd rather have a good amp AND amplitube 2... Then you have the best of both worlds. When my band writes a song we like to do a quick demo recording using amplitube and sampletank drums and stuff like that, it really helps us get a feel for the song and try out ideas easily. However if we were having to mic up an amp every time it would make it more work, less portable, less flexible and less immediate. When we finally get to "the album" we will more than likely mic real amps, but our Amplitube tracks give us a really good idea what we are heading towards. So I wouldn't swap it for anything.

I genuinely don't undertstand why you chaps aren't just buying the Waves amp-sim. It sounds (in my opinion, obviously) fantastic.
I guess maybe it depends on your style; I don't do metal or rock-soloing etc.

No need to tell me, I know...championrabbit wrote:

Btw, just recently I used my about to be abandoned setup live, for some funky groove stuff. And what can I say? It's been by *far* the best half-clean rhythm sound I ever had.
I've been using the rusty GT-5 along with my "The Twin" (the one with the red knobs) and decided to twiddle a few GT-5 parameters a bit before (something I haven't done in ages).
I don't know why it was like that all of a sudden (I mean, I'm using that very setup for over 10 years allready, for all sorts of small commercial jobs), the EQ on the Fender looked quite weird as well (a LOT of mids, very few trebles), but it was just the best sound I played in a long long time. Great response, cutting through nicely, a joy to play - just what the doctor ordered. Even better than my Mark IV. I am right now rethinking my strategies for a new live setup because of that.
And no, apparently it's been no subjective thing either, as there's been some guitar players in the audience as well, asking me what I used for that great sound.

From the demos, I find it to sound quite musical as well. Just that there's gonna be no dongle ever sticking in my laptop when using it live.championrabbit wrote:I genuinely don't undertstand why you chaps aren't just buying the Waves amp-sim. It sounds (in my opinion, obviously) fantastic.
Should actually look whether there's a crack available yet, to see what it's all about.
And yes, I'm almost serious about that. I won't buy an iLok to try the demo just because the idiots at Waves are so retarded.

OMG, that Waves copy protection seemed to have lasted long...
But no, I won't get it anyways. I'd rather let them suffer of their stupidity.

Hey Sascha, I don't know "the twin" with the red knobs. What model is that. I have been playing DI a lot for the last year or two because I haven't been gigging much. I have similar experience each time I plug back in. It's like WOOOO, I forgot how great this sounds!!!Sascha Franck wrote: I've been using the rusty GT-5 along with my "The Twin" (the one with the red knobs) and decided to twiddle a few GT-5 parameters a bit before (something I haven't done in ages).

The 65 Twin Reverb is pretty much my favorite amp ever. Of course the high gain stuff isn't Bognerish, but the rest is tops.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer
