Announcing Focusrite Liquid Mix

A Revolutionary Liquid Multi-channel Firewire Mix Processor

Liquid Mix's onboard DSP hosts 32 classic EQs and 32 vintage compressors simultaneously in the mix - an impossible task to achieve with your computer's CPU alone.

£500 is a good price, as well...

Erm, this looks as though its only ever going to do EQ and compression. Not exactly competing with the PoCo or UAD in that respect.

Well, 32 channel strips of Sintefex vintage dynamic convolution EQ and compression is well good, especially at that price. Plenty of other plugins do delays, reverbs and wacky stuff - EQ and compression is really what you need for most things.

I think it looks pretty spiffy, myself... *plus* you get a hardware channel strip controller for compression and EQ with level meters, with more DSP expansion available too.

All you need now is any Convolution Reverb (Wizoo W2 for example, sounds very good, easy GUI and easy on CPU) and the Liquid mix!

Nice looking hardware! Hell, I'd be more than happy to dump all my Compression/EQ CPU cycles, who gives a shit if it doesn't have delay effects..

:D

Looks like that's gonna knock the crap outta that dynamic convo pluggo thing everyone raved over last year..

must... have... it... :hihi:

Looks interesting. It's still not a "hardware" compressor, though, despite the trappings. You'll have to carefully watch your input levels going in, the same as you do when going into your soundcard.

That looks very nice actually

It has 32 channel strips of Sintefex vintage dynamic convolution EQ and compression.

Will all those EQ's and compressors be sampled and used in the Liquid Mix, u think?
(like in their FX2000/8000 series...)

Check this SINTEFEX page:

At £499 it does look very attractive...

I have been waiting patiently for a long time for Focusrite to make some kind of plugins that use their Liquid technology (dynamic convolution). This looks sweet.

i'm not sure how that thing will work. like tc and uad or is one supposed to route audio through the interface and its mixer?

i'm a bit confused.

if it works the uad way, i'm all !!!! and going to order one asap.
