Just for reference I'm using the 27th feb beta of EXT and I'm running a 3.06GHz P4, 512mb ram Laptop with built in ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics card. I'm using the Oatmeal release 35-5 and it works perfectly on my system. I've tried it loaded into EXT standalone directly, loaded into the sequencer component in EXT standalone, loaded inside an EXT VST in EXT standalone and finally inside an EXT VST loaded into Tracktion 2, all with no problems.
Sorry, DotNoir but I have no idea why it's not working for you!

Me neither
HAve to invetigate more
For the reference, I'm running (now) the 27 feb beta of eXT and a 2800+ AMD AThlon with 512 333MHz DDR with ATI Radeon 9600 Pro with Omega drivers... Oatmea is 35-5. I've been usiong the standalone eXT.
Anywa, I have to see if it has something to do with my system...

I'd suggest you try one of these free/donationware lightweight VST hosts to see if they have the same problem for you. It might help you work out if it's to do with your system.DotNoir wrote:Me neitherHAve to invetigate more

Works in VST host. Oh well, have to study now a bit. Thanks for the help!

Whoops - just as I wanted to complain, someone else allready mentioned the missing sustain pedal support. Any chance of getting that in?

Hey, any status reports on some of those cool skins in big form? (Sorry, I don't mean to be impatient -- I'm just afraid that this thread is starting to lose steam, and I'd like, if at all possible, to get some of those cool skins 'biggie' sized before that happens.)

hey fuzzpilz,
i know you (and some others) are going to hate me now ...
here's some input from me.
note:
oatmeal is a great synth, i think i dont have to state that anymore,
so, if you think i'm bothering you, just ignore this.
just want to help to make oatmeal even better ...

bugreport:
the glide legato works when the release of the amp env is long enough to overlap next played note.
in glide legato, glide should only be applied, when the actually _key-held_ note overlaps with the next one.
so, f.e., if i record 2 notes which are not overlapping in the pianoroll-editor, they shouldn't glide, even if the release of the amp is longer than the space between tose 2 notes.
the glide should _only_ be applied when the notes in the pianoroll-editor actually overlap.
feature requests:
- a static pan knob.
when delay is applied pingponglike (no center tap) on f.e. a pad, the pan drifts constantly to one side more and there's no chance to correct the pan drift, exept to use the user lfo wave by painting it exclusively to one line. i don't wanna waste an lfo for this to correct this.
- post dist level as destination in the x/y section, which i actually use as a "modulationmatrix".
when using the sine shaper, one can do pretty nasty fm-sounding-like patches.
but, in order to give these some life actually, one has to automate the inputgain of the shaper (i.e. via modwheel), or one or both (when both are in use) osc levels. that results into a great dynamic sound, but also in a big increase of the overall level of the sound, which has to be compensated. now i don't see any chance to automate the level _after_ the shaper via "the matrix" with controller, thatfor i cannot compensate the gain increasement that takes place as i move the modwheel ...
- a selector switch for "freq > env speed", as i'd like this effect not to take place allways on all env's (mainly i'd like to have that feature on the amp env _or_ the filter env, not both at once). maybe a dropdownmenue that gives all the possible combinations?
- env decay's less than 10ms.
- delay on lfo's (i'd rather like to _not_ waste a mod env for this).
- the individual bands (freq, gain at least) of the eq as destination in the xy matrix.
that way one could achieve a neat automatable peakfilter, which is not present in the regular filter ... or, when using 4 bands, one could achieve automatable phaser fx ... would be very nice ...
it doesn't have to be poyphone, so that would be not too much work?
- it's a pitty to get the osc2's transpose to to exactly +-0 (even with shift-click fineadjustment).
default (rightclick) is +12 semitones, but often one needs exactly the same pitch (+-0 semitones) on both osc's, f.e. having different pulsewidth settings but exact equal pitch on both osc's ... for basses this is great. maybe an easy way to correctly adjust +-0 and the semitones with, say, alt-click > drag up or down?
- alternate > pan (in the xy matrix or as an additional knob).
what i mean is, that each note that i hit on the keyboard is panned alternately, first one left, next one right, and so on. the knob should control the ammount, bipolar ... that would be great for arpeggios ...
- aftertouch as source in the xy-matrix
there are randomly some more parameters that i need to control via aftertouch that those availlable ...
also, the aftertouch > cutoff doesn't span the whole cutoffrange ... sometimes i need the cutoff really close, but need to open it via aftertouch completely ...
- lfo speed as destination in the xy matrix.
- a second page with just the same xy view, exactly doubling the possibilities of control.
- keyfollow knob for the cutoff of the noise filter.
as the filter is a bandpass, one could statically use that cutoff to apply _only_ high frequency noise to the osc's,
grat for typical juno-like basses ...
- a key > filter output level-knob.
sometimes the sound is way less loud when played in a deeper zone of the keyboard, getting too loud the higher one plays it or vice versa. as the main output gain is post fx, this should be applied in the filterpage (or signalpathwise that should be there at least). of course this should be polyphone ...
question:
is the chorus not consuming any cpu, when "mix" is off?
if it still does, why not having an on/off switch for it (not that oatmeal sucks a lot of cpu, but why waste it
)
same question applies to the osc's ...
