I am yet to see any hard evidence that this can record in 24 bit personally. Magix MusicMaker costs more than Samplitude SE and cannot record in 24 bit. It would be very strange indeed to release a more powerful version of an almost identical product, for much less, while they are both available to buy at the same time, a bit confusing.

Magix have been a bit foggy with their descriptions in the past, I would very much like to hear from someone who has actually used the SE version when it becomes available.

I have used Samp8 and still use Samp6 both will record at 24 bits, but the Magix Samp SE spec sheet description for this is a bit unclear.

Maybe they will release a demo.

The only place to get it free, is from the magazine. So, good luck. After Messe, it will be available for download from the samplitude site for a price, $49 I believe. The details are still sketchy.

I just wonder if although cheaper with the mag (thanks for the heads up AndreasE), if it is really worth navigating the interface in German. It is very likely it will be in German. It would be handy to know for sure if there was a way to switch languages. I don't think that is possible. Hopefully I am wrong.

From the large screenshot we can't tell for sure, but it doesn't seem the interface is in German.

Yes true. It does certainly look like English. Maybe even the German versions have interfaces in English as well. It might just be the PDF that is in German. If that was is the case then if I am not mistaken, it is possible to download the Samplitude 8 PDF anyway. That I think is in English.

it looks like,
that this version will have lot's of cut-downs,
compared to the big version,
it will be very similar to CUBASE-LE

so, dont get too excited,
the limitations will be right betwenn the,
SAMPLITUDE V8 MASTER version and the
SAMPLITUDE V8 CLASSIC version:

it will problably allow you to use MAX 4-8 VSTi
within a project!

Er, I think you'll find they've been doing that anyway. Lots of UK mags have carried a copy of Magix Music Maker Silver Edition.

This doesn't make it much more useful than Kristal for me. I'd just need a host with PDC for mixing audio tracks.
