I gotta admit using a pedal makes it easier wit a pick in your hand...btw even with your trick you have far more signal loss than with active, simply because active is low z ;)...but it's purely up to ones taste, that's for sure...I think the little pa2s are great because they are under 30 bux usd, they work with passive pick-ups...and they can be shut off going back to passive...even better you can set the boost up to 20 db via a trimpot so it's flexible...:)

I have a Chandler booster which is now gathering dust somewhere. Never used it.

 I never say never anymore...read back where I said the xt live is changing my way of seeing things...I've said it a million times before...everytime I break a "never" rule I made when I thought it meant something, it's to my benefit...if you have this booster and you're not using it, you might not know what you're missing...but like I say it's all a matter of taste....some very good guitarists love active and others hate it...just don't rule it out Sascha...the day may come where it's the perfect fit...;)

btw in Azimuth I did not use the PA2 pre-amp boost at all, just the EMG 81...it's not something I use all the time, and I have the trim pots all turned down quite low (three guitars have them...two with emgs one with three duncans)...they're almost more of an expander the way I have them set than a boost...;)

Sure - that's why I'm keeping it.

I keep things because I'm a freakin squirrel :hihi: I have boxes of junk I must save because yah never know...and cables :dog:...I don't know how many unused pick ups I have...at least 5 fender single coils...various humbuckers...even some with stupid aria covers...it's a sickness, I save everything that isn't trash....and I have a loose definition of what "trash" is. :hihi:
