The way I understand it, it's only for those how are eligable for the free upgrade, and those who are eligable will get an email notification from IK to select whether they want the download, or the disks. If you want the download, you have to either have a key, or buy one. That means it's only for users who have CSR, and/or Philharmonik, and/or have a Cubebase key, and are eligable for the free upgrade.

BTW,,, I missed the free upgrade by just a little bit. (registered mine the month before the free upgrade deal kicked in). If you bought AT1 from eSoundz, and you're in the same boat I'm in, contact elijah@esoundz.com and let him know. I'm sure glad I did!!!

weird, I'm eligable for the upgrade and I have a key already. I haven't received an e-mail though.

ISTR Squids said the upgrade emails would go out some time this week. I've decided to go with the download for insta-grat(tm)'s sake and to lessen the demand for the physical goods so y'all will get it faster. Already got a Synchrosoft dongle for Arturia Brass.

weird, I'm eligable for the upgrade and I have a key already. I haven't received an e-mail though.

I am here in the IK booth at Frankfurt (day before the show) so I asked just for you!

I am told the emails will be going out starting partially today and because there are thousands going out it will continue through tomorrow and maybe the next day.

Like I said, you'll have two options. Basically the fast option for those that have a key (or just go get one if you can't wait... I would but I am no you). Or the slow snail mail option and the long list of people. If you are an AT1 free upgrader you do get some nice benefits as well like a lower price and an extra plug-in compared to someone buying AT2 or AT2 upgrade right now. However, for those that order it right now they could just get it shipped as quickly as Putte has received his. That's because it is a completely different waiting list and procesing system. Still, there in short supply so you might get lucky. I think www.esoundz.com has them Thursday or Friday this week.

Lastly, I know each person has their gripes and it is understandable because people are anxious to get it. But, I think my additional request for a download should solve anyone's impatience problem. In the worste case you'd have to pick up a dongle to take advantage of the speed of having that option. If that isn't good for you then you can optionally wait instead. There are thousands of people so in a way you can consider it like a "rush charge". Ever seen those? When you press a music CD for example it takes 10 days usually. But if you just had to have it in 3 days you can sometimes pay a rush charge. So, buying a key to get it now can be looked at the same way. I just paid the same amount for some power adapters to plug-in this computer in Europe. We're not talking a lot of money here. But, again, it's up to you. I am only trying to do my best to influence things so that there is at least the option for the fastest possible delivery all things considered. I believe that would be early next week that it would be available for mass download after the email goes out this week.

Hard to believe than in a matter of a week or so there will be thousands of people getting into AT2 like Putte. I no longer have it just for myself. Well, I do have Ampeg SVX at least. I noticed the new thread.

Putte, stop by the IK booth. I have some things to tell you about AT2. I am showing a peak of Studiophonik as well which is getting closer to release finally as well (and the no more vaporware policy is in full effect... we'll see...)

Thanks for the info squids. I'm really looking forward to the download. Manuals are for sissies anyhow (or people who can read), so I'll be downloading for sure. I know what I'll be doing all night Friday, and all day Saturday

Thanks for the update. A quick question:

If you go for the download, do you then not get a dongle at some future date in the mail? I ask because my Cubase dongle is in poor condition, and I was looking forward to a new one.

I think its entirely fair for pre-purchase customers to be allowed to both get the download, as well and the boxed version. After all, as the dongle is the critical component there can be no reasonable objections to both having the box shipped (with the dongle) and downloading a copy, as well.

The full and complete manual comes with the download anyway in PDF. Save the trees. Just kidding. You don't even need a manual for this product. It is really intuitive.

It would be nice to see some other people rave so I don't look like a raving lunatic. I TOLD you I LOVE this plug-in! It is my favorite plug-in but I too am a 60's and 70's classic gear nut... so to me it is kind of a no brainer. How can a collection of vintage gear in software that sounds very close to it NOT be one of my favorite things. My UAD card is ALSO one of my favorite things... except I don't have that with me on my laptop but I DO have my TRackS and AmpliTube 2 so being able to use it on whatever computer you are on is a nice thing. Just plug the key in and go. I've had nothing but a lot of fun with it and I have had it for many monnths. Of course, all I need is some more time to make music and I'll be all set!

I've just heared it in action..... and it does sound pretty damn good....

the ampeg thingy, too - but I haven't really explored it myself yet... hopefully they'll let me so i can tell you more....
