Well no, not sure. And you are probably right, I just hadn't considered spending $1500 to save the extra $200 the controller seems to add to the GR2 price.cptgone wrote:Komplete3 comes with a a software only copy of GR2 IIRC. I've had a quick look at their site, I think you were right after all. However, registered GR1 owners can get a software only update from the NI Shop.shamann wrote:Well no, not sure. Yeah, I think to return it to esoundz would be the ONLY way that work. Both Miro and CSR come with an iKey with the license already installed. Digi includes a pre-installed iLok for some product bundles but most of their stuff comes without an iLok. I believe Steinberg sells everything WITHOUT the key included. I know I liked it when I got the key with Miro because I didn't have one. I though it was cool that CSR had one because now I have a spare. However, I don't need or want 3.Squids wrote:I have this idea where we allow people to buy a key and return it toward the price of a product that comes with one but I have to investigate to make sure that is really possible... but sounds like a nice idea.
Though it would be a nightmare from a packing perspective, I'd like to see IK/Digi/Steinberg put out boxed version with a key and boxed versions without at a slightly lower price. However, I'm sure that ain't gonna happen for the packing reason I mentioned AND because the keys probably cost them next to nothing.
Barring that, if you're going to include a key in every retail box, provide a d/l delivery at a reduced price for those that don't need the key.
Oh, and now I won't be able to sleep until I get my email
